Each room had a unique design with interesting combinations of wallpaper, contemporary lighting and unique furniture. The common areas were beautifully designed with polka dot carpet in the stairwells, full wall murals in the dining room and elevator and colourful and well thought out accessories. The bathroom was very modern with large towels and heated towel rack. There was only...

We stayed at Hotel du petit moulin in june 2011. We had a superior room, but was toghether with to friends who stayed in comfort rooms and all were equally nice. The staff was very accomorating and helping us with all questions we might have. The location is superb. Especially if you like the Marais district, with all the little...

Olivier = 5 stars [hotel staff is outstanding]. The hotel I'd give 3 1/2. I really wanted to like this hotel given the great reviews. The bed was fairly comfortable. The star and a half deduction can be mostly attributed to the tired and CB2'ish decor - yes, funky but closer inspection is by no means 5 stars. The bathroom...

Can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Super location, great staff (most speak english, if you must) fabulous decor, etc, etc. My only caveat would be, if you're the strictly-5 star, Penninsula Hotel type, this might not be your spot - although it is luxurious in its own special way, the elevator is small and creaky, the beds weren't exactly sumptuous,...

I stayed here recently instead of L'Hotel, where I have stayed most often in Paris, because of the Christian Lacroix association. It is great. Eccentric design and great service. A bar, but no restaurant, but they recommend good places locally. And if they don't suit, the Hg2 app can give you more.

This historic building hides a very unique boutique hotel that offers comfort, funcionnality and character. The staff was the best I have ever experienced and spoke fluent English. They offered us a nice Lacroix keyring when they knew it's our honeymoon. We particularly loved the central location and free wifi. We had also drinks in the stylish bar which was...

After reading great reviews about this hotel on Trip Advisor and various other publications we had high expectations for Petit Moulin. Perhaps we got a dud room (402), being on the top (4th) floor it had very low ceilings (under the Mansard) and we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs as the elevator only services up...

This hotel was designed by Christian Lacroix, the quirky French fashion designer and each room is different. It is located in the amazing shopping district of Le Marais. From the outside is does not look like much, but inside it is stylish and has some of the features of the old mill it once was. We enjoyed its French style,...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
