2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
42 Avenue Gabriel, Your Parisian place of life Mid-way between Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore and Avenue Montaigne, a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysees, where the heart of Paris beats. Nestled in a peaceful location, slightly set back from the world's most beautiful avenue, La Reserve Paris - Hotel and Spa overlooks the Grand Palais, the Eiffel Tower, the Pantheon and the Concorde obelisk. Just in front, a majestic curtain of trees preserves the intimacy of this place, like an echo of the Elysee gardens nearby. Michel Reybier's highly distinctive urban mansion has all the elegance of a 19th century private apartment, where ultra-personalized services can be enjoyed in complete simplicity and discretion. All around are immense spaces bathed in light, barely muted by the rich fabrics of the hangings. Scattered here and there are beautiful marble fireplaces, and everywhere the joy of vast indoor spaces, typical of Haussmann-style apartments. The noble and generous materials exude a forgotten spirit of generosity. More suites than rooms, a library reserved for guests and their friends, a smoking lounge, a 16-meter indoor pool (a rarity in Paris), wine cellars in the suites, an inner courtyard with lush greenery echoing the landscaped entrance. At La Reserve Paris - Hotel and Spa, you experience the quintessence of Parisian chic in the Belle Epoque.

We stayed here for our honeymoon/babymoon and I am so glad we did. Our trip was made very special by the amazing staff, who go out of their way and pay attention to the smallest details. One night it was balloons in our room, the next it was delicious marshmallows. They even had a pregnancy pillow ready for me! No other hotel (we went on to stay at the Four Seasons in Cap Ferrat as we all Le Bristol to end our trip) did any such thing. Was so thoughtful. The hotel itself is gorgeous, well located and safe area - a nice mix of modern and old-school glamour. Pool is incredible, serene (it was totally empty every time I went) and gym is small but complete. Restaurants are also cozy and beautiful with amazingly attentive servers. Food is of course great! The bathroom was one of my favourite parts. We had a fairly small room, but the bathroom was almost as big as the room itself, all marble and a massive shower, heated floors, huge fluffy towels...so luxurious. I miss it! The free mini bar items are also SO NICE, in Paris where every hotel charges an arm and a leg for water, having endless juice, water, soft drinks etc was so appreciated. We will be back! Merci beaucoup!!

Wow!!!!! Me and my son had spent the first two nights of our stay in Paris in a completely different establishment and due to being completely underwhelmed half way through our stay we toured some of the top hotels - Crillon, le Bristol and la reserve to look at cheers king in elsewhere. The first two completely looked down their noses at us with my 14 yr old son sadly saying he felt sooooo uncomfortable and then we turned up at la reserve. Wow wow wow…..we were greeted by Emily who gave us a COVID compliant tour of this fabulous palais. Immediately after the tour I booked us in for the last two nights of our stay checking in the next day. Everything from our early check in, cocktails at the bar, personal touches, our constantly immaculate suite, to Emily’s smiling face and totally customer led attitude means that both me and my son were sad to leave but so desperate to next check in!!! I’ve already been looking at dates. I cannot recommend this beautiful establishment highly enough and cannot wait to return and have Emily greet us with welcome arms

I have never stayed in a city hotel room with such attention to detail in every design aspect. Fantastic, thorough and well thought out, in fact you really need to spend time to appreciate and see all the detailed thoughts put into the rooms here that make it feel almost better than home. La Reserve is not so much a hotel, more so an intimate, private home to escape to in the heart of Paris. You will hardly see another guest or housekeeping or staff in the hallways. While service is not proactive, everyone be it your butler, concierge, room service, reception, technicians...etc will be at your door in seconds with a touch of a button on the iPad or a phone call away. Food and beverage is not to be missed here as well. Wonderful wine list. I only had small bites as I had larger meals outside the hotel but small bites at the bar and library were great. The American Breakfast is absolutely fantastic, one of the freshest and best egg's benedicts I have had, still thinking about it now. The Spa and gym are well equipped. I enjoyed the temperate indoor pool, large enough for decent laps, the hammam is soothing and relaxing and at a very nice temperature. Staff here are all exceptionally professional, courteous, friendly and welcoming. My room was ready shortly after arriving. Reception gave me a nice property tour. I appreciate the fact that having forgotten to sign for my evening snacks and drink at the library, it still correctly showed up on my bill, they know who you are and respect your privacy. I will say there were nonetheless a few missed marks, but not big enough to detract from the fact that this place truly is a unique and special luxury property in Paris and the world. First off, I was not given a fully detailed room tour, not sure if this is due to COVID protocols. My iPad was not functioning on arrival, I called reception and they said they would send a technician, upon returning to my room later in the day, iPad was still not fixed, it was not until I rang my butler Morghan, a gem that she is, that she was able to address and assist. I was not informed what service./ functions the iPad could do, I found out later it is your command center for everything during your stay including controlling TVs. The Bathtub TV did not seem to work or function. Unclear what the normal protocol is, but I was not informed of or introduced to my butler, something I feel would be a nice touch to at least put a name to a face, but thankfully upon a ask, the staff more than happily introduced me to my butler. Finally, once the room was ready, my roll away bag was there however they did not send up my backpack and duffel until I called. Again, very minor and these things did not at all deter my over all impressions of this place but given the price point and true elevated experience you get here, would have been nice to have a perfect experience.

2020 , has been a challenging year to say the least . As I have my pied à terre in Paris , during normality times , I often dine at restaurants at Palace hotels and rarely have the occasion to stay. I decided to spend New Year’s Eve with my dearest friend’s and stay at our ultimate Favorite Palace , La Réserve , less ostentatious than Paris’s officially designated palace hotels, it’s every aspect their equal, if not their superior — at the very least it’s gone straight into the top tier of Parisian luxury hotels. Suites outnumber rooms, as is only fitting for a small Palace , more like a private residences than hotel rooms, a true residential atmosphere , subdued 19th-century mansion . I coordinated my stay with the Hotel Manager , Mr Julien Gardin and visited several suites and along with his expertise and his team created memorable stay . I conversed several times to further refine all the necessary details. I was extremely impressed with Raphaël, duty manager, he was excellent , proactive and assisted immensely, most spontaneous. Mélody , Chef de Brigade, was simply outstanding, delightful and most gracious, assisted in coordinating with pre-registration ,personalized to every detail, with an extensive list , to anticipate with preferences,to ensure to a ultimate stay for their guests . I have stayed at many luxury properties around the globe and reiterate how impressive the experience remains . We arrived with the hotel’s pre arranged chauffeur, we were greeted by the entire team awaiting outside of the Mansion , I was overwhelmed . I have never experienced such a Royal Welcome , true Red Carpet . Upon arrival , Melody graciously escorted us to our suite , 507 and gave us an overview of all the comforts and amenities. We felt immediately at home . Its interiors exquisitely designed by Jacques Garcia, whose typically romantic style is at its most refined here. Décor is plush and luxurious without being flashy, featuring Bordeaux and Merlot themes with velvet bed runners, bed heads and silk wallpaper — plus more contemporary elements in the artworks and soft furnishings. There is attention to detail in every aspect , with options to control temperature, light and television either the traditional way or with modern technology from Apple, iPads. Minibars feature Nespresso machines, kettles and complimentary soft drinks. All rooms contain some sports equipment for those who don’t want to use 24-hour gym. Bathrooms are simply exquisite Spa like feel , in Carrara marble, with featuring sinks carved from single blocks and free-standing metal tubs with remote-controlled television, Toto washlets . The spa, specializing in Nescens-Swiss anti-aging treatments, also contains a 50-foot indoor pool, which was privatized for us during our one hour sessions , truly blissful. The hotel includes not one but two restaurants: the two-Michelin-starred Le Gabriel and La Pagode de Cos, under the direction of Jérome Banctel, who’s got two Michelin stars of his own. We were hosted in a separate suite with the view of the Eiffel Tower . Restaurant Manager , Kevin Bourgogne and his team orchestrated every aspect of our dining experience, from tableware exquisitely selected and overall ambiance , understated and refined. Our exquisite menu was created for our New Year’s celebration by the expertise of the talented Chef Jérome Banctel , culinary delights were most carefully prepared , with the finest , freshest of ingredients and executed to perfection. The service was butler style, personalized , discreet yet unobtrusive and added to the overall Excellence in service , they ensured and anticipated all our needs throughout the evening. Our dining was a true visual elegance throughout, paired with perfect Champagne from the proprietors vineyards , Michel Reybier . We had the great privilege of having the talented singer ,Sophie de Quay and Simon , multi-instrumentalist, performing for us as we were dining , her powerful and intense voice ... truly mesmerizing, both are a true gift to the universe. Meanwhile , We continue to reminisce on our magical soiree that you and your team created for us , truly most memorable stay and without any doubt The Best Experience!
