Man at reception was lovely and helpful.Room was small but very clean. The 2 women who served the breakfast were the most bad mannered, rudest people I have ever met. They are certainly not in the right job! They must be told they are there to serve the guests. I was appalled at their rudeness.

Stayed in this hotel for the fete de la musique. Is just a short walk from Gare du Nord, on arrival the receptionist was helpful and cheery. The room was clean and comfortable, the lady setting out the breakfast was really kind by doing coffee and croisants later than normal. The carpets to the rooms could do with updating, but...

We stayed in triple room en route from London to the Alps. Great location for Gare Du Nord (4 mins walk). Met by a very friendly, helpful man on reception. Stayed in room 3, room tiny, 3 beds all in a row with not a cm between them, electric wires hanging out from socket, bathroom door would not open fully...

Stayed there for 5 days. The room was not spacious, but quite clean and tidy. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. Satisfying breakfast (coffee, milk, juice, croissant, bread, cereals, butter, jam). 5 minutes walk from metro station Poissoniere. Ideal for anyone who wants a decent, cheap hotel to rest while touring in Paris.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our sightseeing trip to Paris and it wasn't quite what we expected. The room was rather small (the bathroom door barely missed the bed when you opened it) and the bed was tiny (120cm x 190cm). The bathroom wasn't that big either: you had to sit on the toilet sideways because the sink...

Very clean. The rooms are small but this seems to be the norm for budget paris hotels. It was a bit noist out in the street at night. The hotel is about 10-15 mins from Gare de Nord. This didn't seem the best area by Paris standards but Paris still seems relatively safe by world standards. The staff were friendly...

Very nice hotel! Recently renovated and painted; rooms are a little bit small but very usable and very clean. Reception persons are extremely friendly and good in giving plenty of correct touristic advises. The location is excellent: near (but not too much!) from Gare du Nord, near Cadet and Lorette metro stations. 15/20 mins walk from centre of Paris or...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
