Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.

We stayed here for four nights recently mainly due to the location. It’s minutes away from the metro station and also the Sacré-Coeur which suited us perfectly.

We didn’t eat in the hotel based on the tiny area for breakfast and other reviews on here but there’s plenty of shops

Response from Bellevuehotel, Manager at Hotel Bellevue Paris Montmartre

Here is the management answer: 1)Thank you for your compliments on our courteous staff, our cleanliness, our comfortable beds and mattresses and our location. Indeed, our hotel is in a great location at the bottom of Buttes Montmartre, with its art galleries, its painters and its museums and restaurants, and its great and easy Metro connections. In fact, it is very safe and agreeable. 2)However, we disagree on the other comments: i)Quality: We are a full fledge 3* hotel, as reviewed and certified by the city of Paris. Our location. Further, the hotel is in very good condition, with newly repainted rooms, new carpets, new materials, exquisite ccolours and beautiful frames; “state of the art” systems, including newly replaced bathroom fixtures, the plumbing and electrical system, TV, phone and WIFI internet, etc. Further, our rooms are impeccably cleaned every day and our hotel is kept in a sparkling clean and in good condition. Finally, there is a courtesy platter with a kettle, and FREE coffee and tea in each room. ii) Size: Our rooms are rather large by Paris standards. As a result, all rooms vary in size from 12 to 20 m², which is normal and fair in a historic old town like Paris or New York. Obviously, you cannot compare such sizes to other hotels on the beach in Spain or Turkey or India for that matter, where real estate is plenty and cheap! Finally, the client got excellent service since we gave client a much bigger room for the second night! iii)The hotel was completely renovated in September 2003 to the 3 * standards of the city of Paris - very demanding in this matter - with high-end materials. Therefore, floors, walls, double-glazed windows, fire doors (also used for soundproofing) offer a perfect sound insulation. Moreover, the configuration of the floors is such that no room is located near the elevator to avoid the noise of the customers coming and going. iv) Breakfast: We serve Continental Breakfast as advertised, which includes orange juice, apple juice, tea, coffee, chocolate, hot milk, fresh and hot croissants, pain au chocolate, pain au raisins and baguettes, corn flakes, butter, jam, cheese, boiled eggs, meat cuts, fresh and dry fruits, etc all of these at will. Further, we get fresh bread deliveries from one of the best hotel providers in Paris every day. Also, breakfast is served everyday by a professional waitress who gives a very good service. 2)Our prices are very reasonable: indeed, our prices are very competitive and even relatively cheap for the quality of service. We really offer an excellent ratio of quality to price. Conclusion: 1) I wish that the Client would have asked the Manager (myself) and I would have made sure to solve all the Client’s problems by changing his/her room from the first night. 2)Our prices are very reasonable: indeed, our prices are very competitive and even relatively cheap for the quality of service. We really offer an excellent ratio of quality to price.
