(and more bus lines, specifically the line 20 that goes to Gare de Lyon station, and the line 96 which goes to Montparnasse station.) This nice and quiet area offers every facilities : market, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, parking lot nearby, laundry, and many bars and restaurants. All our rooms are non-smoking double rooms (max. occupancy 2 people), with air conditionning and free wifi access. For any further informations, do not hesitate to contact, day and night, our polyglot team (except french, we speak English, spanish, russian, portugese, italian, serbian..), which would be pleased to help you. First time in this hotel, the structure was comfortable, the room was quiet, well kept, detached from the main building overlooking the internal part, of the correct size for Paris standards. Very comfortable bed, basic bathroom without window with shower, with good water pressure. Room renovated a few years ago, clean with carpeted floor. Professional and helpful reception staff.
Excellent location, the Hotel is about a three minute walk from the Oberkampf metro station and about a four minute walk from the République metro station.
The quality/price ratio is good. Advised

I was very pleasantly surprised by the high-quality customer service I received. First, proactive handling of unforeseen reservations and room availability. Then, I had forgotten my kit with important items for me. I live in Spain. The hotel manager and his colleagues took care of doing everything to send it to me as quickly as possible and with great kindness! It’s been a long time since I received this type of treatment, the one that makes you feel welcomed and at ease.

This hotel is not really 3* more like 2*. It is old and my room was nothing like the picture. It had a disabled bathroom that I did not ask for. It was at the back with a depressing view over pipes and a grubby internal courtyard. The room was dark and depressing, think Philip Larkin’s “Mr Bleaney”. I thought it was one of the worst value hotels rooms I’ve stayed in, even in Paris a city notorious for the poor quality of its hotels. I’d avoid.

Response from IBIS Paris Avenue de la Republique, Guest Services / Front Office at ibis Paris Avenue de la Republique
Responded 28 Jun 2024
Hi, We'd like to thank you for having taken your time to share your experience with the community though the wrong negative and wrong assumptions. We'd like to point out that this is a 3*** hotel as stated by the plaque shown outside the hotel and it is in line within the French law for surface and services for a 3*** hotel in Paris. The pictures on the website are those of some rooms, not all the rooms, perhaps your room was not one of those and yes as stated you got a room with bathroom for a disabled person in which the only difference is a much bigger surface, no shower doors and handles next to the toilet. If you were not satisfied with the room you could have just talk to the reception... did you?. Last, but not least the hotel is in a building from the 19th century, so yes.. the building is old as most in Paris, but the hotel was completely restricted in 2017 when it was bought by IBIS to turn it into a hotel so it can't be that old. We wish you had safe travels back home .

Great location, it is two blocks from Place de la Republique where there are plenty of places to eat and also the metro station. The hotel is easy to find, is in the corner of the street. The surroundings are nice, there are plenty of cafés, restaurants and stores. Felt safe there.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good like any other European hotel breakfast. In the reception there were maps of the city and the metro available.

However when we tried to use the spare pillow we found a guys underwear in the bag!! That was disgusting and made us question the cleanliness of the bedroom.

The bath didn’t have a curtain so the floor was all covered with water after we had a bath.

That was the only two downfalls of the hotel. Other than that everything was ok, what you would expect from an Ibis.

Hi Estefy, We'd like to thank you for your review and sharing your experience with us and we are also glad that everything met your expectations except for the two issues that you point out, which surely penalizes the note we could have gotten. Concerning the underwear found in the bag we are truly ashamed that something like that happened; those pillows are seldom used and there is no way that an issue like that regards the cleaning, clearly someone placed it on purpose, however there is no excuse for something like that to happen and something should have been done... did you address the reception concerning such incident?. As for the shower, what you guys had was a PMR bedroom ( in other words a bedroom for disabled people), hence the showers are purposely curtainless. In france all hotelsare requiered by law to have a certain amount of rooms for disabled people according to the total surface of the hotel, as you can imagine since we don't have 10 disabled clients everyday somebody has to get those rooms sooner or later. We wish you a very good day and next time do not hesitate to contact the reception right away as soon as you have an issue. Best regards, Manuel

A great small hotel (it only has 40 rooms). Nice clean room with good sized bathroom. Choice at breakfast was great, even for a picky eater like me. Staying in Paris for the Paralympics and the nearby Republique metro station is ideal for getting about Paris in all directions.

First off, I absolutely love this neighborhood. The 11th, to me, is the perfect area in Paris to stay. And I’d stay at this Ibis again based on that alone. As far as the hotel itself, it was good. My first floor room was small but comfortable and had a nice view of the neighborhood. Everything worked. There isn’t much luggage storage space but that’s ok. The front desk was a mixed experience. The woman who checked me in was really kind and efficient. But I found the men who worked the front desk to be a bit… unfriendly? Unwelcoming? All in all a good budget hotel in a fantastic part of Paris. As I said, I’d stay again and generally recommend.

Terribly noisy on the street side.
I understand the Parisians who are losing their minds because of the motorbikes and scooters, their noise is simply infernal. I slept very badly as a result.
Imagine living there, it’s crazy!
For the rest RAS.

Hi. A taxi may cost you 60 euros, possibly a bit more. The train is fairly quick. Follow signs in the CDG airport to the RER (regional train) line B I think. Once you get to that level you will see machines where you can purchase tickets, also a metro ticket or the RER may cover it but I think you need metro tix. There is a train shuttle to where you get onto the RER train. They are fairly frequent. Take the RER to the Gare du Nord. Once you are there, follow signs to the Metro within the station and take the Orange Line # 5 in the direction of Place d'Italie. Get off at Republique and take the Av de la Republique exit up to the street. Go along Av de la Republique about 5 minutes walking, heading kind of south. Rue Rampon is on the eft side of the stree intersecting with Republique . Hope this helps.

It is not. It's about 25 mins walk to both Chatelet and Gare du nord but you can take a metro from Re'publique station (~about 3 min walk from the hotel) and that can take you to either Chatelet or Gare du nord in less than 10 mins. Hope this helps.

Is this close to attractions and do you know if the Hop on Hop off bus goes by or near?
Answer from Oxfordbadger_11
Oxford, United Kingdom35 contributions19 helpful votes
I do not know about the Hop on Hop off bus but imagine it might come by the square as it is a famous meeting place. Central Paris is quite small and very easily accessible by metro which is one of the reasons I chose this hotel as Republique is a major interchange station. Often it is quicker to use the smaller Oberkampf station and transfer to line 1 at Bastille: this line serves many of the famous attractions. In the opposite direction, it goes to the major department stores....If you buy a carnet (10 tickets) travel is quite reasonable.
