The Hotel de l'Exposition, a 3-star hotel in Paris, is located at the heart of the 15th arrondissement, where the workers involved in building the nearby Eiffel Tower had their lodgings. The moment you step into the reception area, the charm of the period paintings that decorate the walls begins to take effect. Produced in the 1950s, they have all been carefully restored. The large numbers behind the Pavillon (the hotel bar) recall the dates of the various expositions that have marked the history of the French capital. Among them, the 1889 universal exhibition which saw the birth of the Eiffel Tower, today the very symbol of Paris; the one in 1900 which inaugurated the first metropolitain underground line; the 1925 Art Deco Exposition at which the work of such innovative artists as Le Corbusier and Picasso were on show, and 1937, for Arts and Techniques... The theme of the hotel is echoed, further on, in a pretty showcase holding period photographs, books and items. Citroen car fans will enjoy sleeping in the vicinity of the former offices of the make of car with a chevron logo whose design office produced the famous Traction, 2 CV and DS. In an elegantly refined atmosphere, visitors can take advantage of all modern conveniences. Enjoy a moment spent in a corner of the cosy lounge, or order a drink from the bar (specially reserved for hotel patrons 24/24), perhaps taking advantage of the handsome collection of whiskies Le Pavillon has on offer. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but the breakfast buffet is served (7 to 10 am on weekdays, 8 to 10:30 am on weekends) in a very attractive vaulted room, with stone walls; one wall features a trompe-l'oeil painting on the theme of the Eiffel Tower.

Nice and clean. We choose the breakfast included option and it was worth it. The distance from the metro is not as close as advertised, however there is a bus stop very close (less than 500m).

Staff was overall good. Some I believe does not speak English (restaurant) and others do, but prefer not to. Jalal was great tho. He was the only one that prompted a conversation and was polite.

The accommodation had two single bed put together and we hated it. One can easily slide in between.

I loved the bathtub, I usually never use a tub outside home but this bathroom was very clean.

There are no elevators, which can be a con for handicaps.

This is a great hidden hotel gem for those interested in staying near the Eiffel Tower. We booked the family room, a double bed with two single beds, and got two rooms connected. The setup is such that we had two bathrooms for the 4 of us. It was a perfect, clean, friendly, and accommodating staff. The bathroom in our room was small and the toilets were separate. Room service was great as it gave us fresh towels for the next day.

The latest review on Hotel L'Exposition was certainly the most fitting one - it now deserves 4 stars. Yes - the outside of the hotel is unspectacular, but inside it has just been renovated (infact some things still need to be finished) and looks nice in brownish-orange colors, quite stylish actually. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everything is impeccably clean. I paid only 79 Euros for a Saturday night stay (online booking via a French website), got a kingsize bed (though I had booked a single room) and added 8 Euros for a French breakfast (not American-style with eggs and bacon, but nice with little croissants and delicious pastry, juice, joghurt, musli, and VERY good coffee...). The metro is just around the corner so everything is within reach, and it will take you 5 minutes to walk to the Tour Eiffel. - There is a cornershop selling fresh fruit and drinks as well in case you are in for some healthy snack on your way to the Tour or the riverside museums. - If you are looking for something that gives you solid quality in Paris without being luxurious and where you do not get ripped off or snobbed - this may be your place.

Bad experience. Staff is not very friendly or helpful. The man at the 24-hour desk is creepy (pictured). He made us feel unwelcome and seemed angry when my girlfriend and I would ask questions. He would also stare at her when we would come back late. Additionally, we got locked out of our room one night during our stay, which happened to be before dinner (pictured). It took extremely long to finally get someone on property to fix the issue. Once someone showed up, we waited outside our room for a lengthy period of time and ended up missing our dinner reservation. Our Uber we had scheduled also canceled on us due to the delay. Hotel staff didn’t seem to care. On the bright side, it’s a great location close to the Eiffel Tower, however, I do not recommend this hotel for your first trip to Paris. During checkout, I raised my concerns about the stay and asked for a refund for one of the nights we missed our dinner. The morning staff member behind the desk laughed and said absolutely not. I sent an email to the owner and have still never heard back. If anything goes wrong during your stay, the hotel is not very accommodating.

Booked family room. (Like the picture in main screen ) double bed , connecting rooms.
Now for me this does what it needs to. Bed. Bath. Clean room at a reasonable price. It's 3 star, so don't expect a great comforts. Will mention
What I liked*** Good price... Connecting rooms...simple clean rooms. Area looked good and quiet.
Disliked*** rooms are small but it's not bad bad. no mini fridge. No room service on food. -
Parking is available. About 22 euro. Check with them. Car park is 3_4 mins away. I took me car and used it all day then parked at night at hotel parking. (Parking in city can be headache and can add up).
Breakfast, till 10 _11 am downstairs about 10 euro. I missed it. slept through.
Overall good stay for me. Clean hotel. Staff member were ok. That's my experience of the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel over the World Cup final weekend for 3 nights. At first I was a bit worried about the quality of the hotel with it only being 2 star. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the whole hotel. It is pretty small and at the time they were just finishing off renovating it but the staff were helpful and the room clean. They have renovated in a very contemporary style (bathrooms were particularly good if on the small side) and there was also a built in electronic safe in the room.

The breakfast was very simple but perfectly adequate for a days sightseeing. Also the location of the hotel was pretty good. It was in quite a surbuban area but within a 5-10 minute walk you are standing under the eiffel tower. There are plenty of small shops and bars around but make sure you don't make the make mistake we did and walk all the way up the wrong end of Rue de Theatrewhen trying to find the hotel!

I throughly enjoyed my stay in paris that weekend and would certainly stay in the hotel again. It doesn't have any amenities apart from a place to sleep, wash and eat breakfast but when staying in Paris why would you need any more!

Hello Mr MANZANAS CARBAJO, first of all, Il explain to you how all hotels work all over the world. When you make a standart reservation, we must charge to ensure it; this operation is called "preautorisation" and , according to the banks, debit or not of your own bank account. In your case, YOUR bank seemed debit your credit card. This guarantee is valid until you leave our hotel. Just after your departure on 16th of february, we canceled the préautorisation (and even, BOOKING call us to know if we canceled it, and it was !). For the moment, the situation is you paid on hotel desk on 16th, and your account is always debited. Don't panic; YOUR BANK MUST CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT... when ?? you must ask it : sometimes, 1 week, sometimes, 1 month ... it depend of the banks. Conclusion : as you can see, we are not AT ALL responsible of this situation, and I m VERY, VERY about you comments on BOOKING and on TRIPADVISOR because it's not TRUE !!! They are not justified because we don' t make any mistake...we just follow the procedure of any hotel in the world. I hope you understand now because if you travel again anyway, you could get exactly the same problem. I want you post new comments (BOOKING and TRIPADVISOR) to make corrections, and be angry not us, but YOUR BANK. Best regards. JL HURAY Manager

Location: Great! Definitely within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower - 10-20 mins walk depending on your pace. We just headed in the general direction of the Tower which was visible from the street the hotel is on, could either take the very scenic route through the park or along the shops. The hotel is also within walking distance of two metro stations. I preferred to use Dupleix.

Amenities nearby: Patisseries/boulangeries within walking distance. Very friendly bars and restaurants within 2 mins walk or a bit further out for a wider choice (we preferred to go a bit further out - 15 min walk, which felt very safe at night.)
Pharmacy and supermarkets also within walking distance. We came across some designer shops on the way to the hotel from the metro station - lacoste, Fred Perry etc. The batobus departure point was about a 10 min walk away from the hotel. Highly recommend using the batobus to get around! The market was on Sunday, around the Dupleix metro station. We really enjoyed this: jewelry, clothes, toys, spices, fruit & veg, meats etc...

Staff: We had very limited contact with staff, in fact I only saw one staff member... he did speak English and seemed very polite, guests were not hassled which we were grateful for. There is a cupboard to hold luggage after checking out - there's no charge for this.

Room/hotel facilities: The room was clean...not very big, but that is Paris for you! My 6'6 travel companion had no complaints. We actually didn't find the 'in-room bathroom' to be an issue, although may be helpful for others to know that there is a toilet for guests downstairs too! We had tea and coffee in the room. A hairdryer was provided and there was a space to hang clothing. The room decor was nice and modern, the view was nice, the hotel generally was very well kept, it was a pleasant place to stay.

The wifi worked absolutely fine for us, we just had to go down and ask for the code.

We didn't eat in the hotel as we preferred to venture out and find some lovely little cafe's for breakfast and restaurants for dinner, but the dining area looked (and smelled) very nice.

Extra info:
*We booked through Agoda for the best price, the hotel itself was also cheaper than booking through other sites.
*We stayed in March and were walking round in T.shirts and vest tops!

All in all, we cannot fault the hotel, for the price and for what it is, it is a great place to stay.

We chose this hotel due to seeing some decent reviews. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The facility is old and there is a strong odor and the air/room feels stuffy. The room is quite small, even compared to European standards. Upon our arrival, our room weren't ready at 2pm as promised. When we got the the room, we noticed the bathroom door can't be closed so it was swinging open obstructing the path in getting to the bed. Our room keys were deactivated twice for no reason, and we had to go back down to the lobby to get them reactivated. On a good note, the bed was clean and when we mentioned the bathroom door issue to the front desk, it was taken cared of the next day.

There are no direct views of the Tour Eiffel, but you can watch the light show from the corner of Charles and Theatre. There are bathtubs in 6 of the rooms, I am not sure of the size of those rooms.
