We went to Paris on March 2011 and found this location because prices were low and rooms affordable. We stayed in a private room with bathroom and even if air was dusty we accepted the fact without complaining about it. The position was perfect: in te nearby there were a supermarket and at the street's corner a delicious boulangerie-patisserie where...

I'm a fan of the 9th arrondissement, so I was pleased to find something in the area that was clean and reasonably affordable. Rue Rodier itself is pretty quiet, but there's plenty going on nearby. The hotel, which doubles as a hostel, is not massively cheap, but in Paris it qualifies as good value. The rooms are a little dated...

I've scoured the internet for accommodations in Paris for two separate trips--2008 and 2011--and can tell you that you'll have a tough time finding a better place to stay for the price. At 65 euros/nt, it's not budget, but when the hostels in the area (which are horrid; see review) cost 25/bed you begin to see that 65 is not...

Paris was a side trip while visint family in Holland. We had our 21 year old daughter with us so we needed three beds. We ended up with a mattress on the floor. The room barely had 12" around the bed to walk, so it was crowded. Fortunately, we only needed a room to sleep in. It was one of...

We booked a double room with small bathroom en suite. We asked for a quiet room and were happy with the relatively quiet room we were given on the corner of the top floor looking down into a courtyard. The furnishings are ramshackle, but everything works and is clean. We also very much enjoyed the nearby free tour of Montmartre,...

Perfect location in Montmartre neighborhood with its amazing nightlife. Quiet street and near to main metro lines. Only not ok if you are looking for comfort, rooms are small and beds are not so good. Staff are helpful, but be sure you are taking a printed copy of the confirmation e-mail.

For the price, you can't beat it. Perfect Hotel is on a quiet street just minutes away from Sacre Coeur in Montmartre and Anvers Metro station. Across the street from the hotel is a Franprix (supermarket), and there are a few internet cafes on the block too (which is necessary, as the hotel doesn't have wifi). A girlfriend and I...

If cheap, reliable, clean and friendly accommodation is what you're looking for, then this place is for you! It IS a small place, so some people may feel cramped, but if you book ahead, they will try to accommodate you as well as possible. Breakfast is the same every day, but hey - for the price it's great! Staff is...

Pros: Location is good, especially if you are coming in or leaving on eurostar. About 10 min walk from Gare du Nord. Decent sized room. Chocolate croissant given during breakfast is good. Cons: Service lacked. Although the night person is fairly pleasant, the woman that works during the day is just horrible with customer service. Asking a question is like...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
