seriously substandard, at first glance it seems alright but within a few minutes I noticed they do not change the bedding there are so many different types of hair all over the bed right under the sheet and on the bedspread. The washrooms also obviously not regularly attended to . They claim they do not take credit cards because "the...

Well basically it doesn't take rocket science to run a hotel, but it takes hospitable people who provide sufficient service, specially for 140€ per night. The area is great and has a lot of cafés and what not, but they don't take credit cards!!! That's insane it's Paris.... Also they wanted us to pay for all 6 night upfront or...

When I read the other comments, i don't understand why people are so unhappy with this Hostel. Ok it's not a luxury one but please be honest : that's perfect for the price. I was happy to give my money to a small company that creates a relationship with the clients. I spent three nights there, and I will be...

Ok: like someone else said, it's not the Hilton. But for 53 euro for a double room, this is a real bargain. Our room was pretty big, the bathroom was nice, warm and clean and we had a nice view of lovely Rue Daguerre (actually, even if the hotel was lousy, it would still be worthy because of this incredible...

Nice neighborhood along Rue Daguerre by Denfert in Paris. We shopped for a hotel and the price was right. Everything else was wrong! Rooms are not very nice. It wasn't very clean. Handle of shower fell off. No elevator and our room was on European third floor. Walls must be very thin because we heard conversations, other noises, and coughing...

I am a budget traveler. Therefore, I look for affordable hotels that are clean and where the rooms have their own bath. The Telemaque was referred to me by a friend. It isn't the Hilton or even a Holiday Inn. It is more like an Italian pensione. However, it had everything I needed and it definitely met my criteria. Since...

My husband and I stayed at the Telemaque in 2000. We found it adequate, its shabbiness more than compensated for by the marvelous rue Daguerre. So when our daughter in Oakland asked in 2004 if we would recommend it, we did. We happened to coincide with her in Paris, but luckily were staying at a different hotel. When we went...

My partner and I had a terrible time at this hotel, where we stayed from May 31st to June 4, 2004. First of all, the hotel amenitites were VERY meager--we had no hot water one day, sheets were never changed, the drinking glass in our room was badly cracked, the toilet leaked, breakfast consisted of one small thin piece of...

We stayed at the Telemaque for a week in October 2000. We booked a triple room, which was exceedingly tight, but it would be fine for two. Room was clean, breakfast good, service just OK. But it was the price and the location which made it a memorable stay. Rue Dagerre is wonderful, with good cheap restaurants abounding, shops and...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
