Our room was on the first floor, my 80 year old mother was with us and couldn't climb a lot of stairs. The room was nice and clean but tiny. There were no windows and no air conditioning, there was an electric fan. We were there in September so the evenings were cooler and our door opened out to an...

I feel like this place is a little under-rated. The staff was really nice and helpful. The food around the place is fantastic, however. There are a few really, really good bakeries. In fact, I'm really missing them right now. Cheese cake, mousse, even baguettes. All just down the street and around the corner. As far as restaurants go, to...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel St. Georges Lafayette last April 2014 for four days and three nights. It had the basic amenities we require. Front desk service was also good as they are very much willing to assist when you inquire about places to visit and how to get there. The hotel is near the Pigale metro...

Good budget choice. Staff helpful & reasonable English. A wide variety of nationalities staying. Our breakfast was included and of a good standard, the basement was bright and airy. WiFi strong and free. Marked down as it is well worn, scuffed/missing flooring. Bathroom suite near the end of its life. Street noise not too bad on third floor but used...

Rooms are good but if you are going for double bed then ask to provide single mattress of double bed otherwise they will join twin beds. And it is difficult to sleep with that. Bathroom was good. Cleanliness is good. They have lift service till only 4th floor!!! So book your room floor accordingly.

We spent one night here, transferred from the Grand Hotel de Turin because of some “problem.” The rooms were spacious and clean. The disabled rooms on the ground floor were convenient though with curtains behind the doors for privacy. Our room on the 5th floor had to be accessed by a lift to the 4th floor and then one more...

The counter staff are absolutely lovely and helpful. However I would recommend asking for a room that doesnt face the main road or you wont be able to sleep due to the noise. The rooms arent air conditioned as well which might be a deal breaker especially during the hot summer months.

The things we liked about this hotel, a budget hotel and a good location. A walking distance from the Picadilly metro station and from Sacre Coeur where you find the famous Paris steps. Very good restaurants a walking distance and bakeries. It was clean for sure. The things we didn't like. The front desk guy who was there at the...

Staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side, but it's only for sleeping after all! It was clean and comfortable and ideally located for exploring Paris. There are several metro stations nearby (under 5 mins) and breakfast was reasonably priced.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
