Chose this hotel because of the reviews and location. However, was rather disappointed with the experience. Just a one-night stay as we had a long layover in Paris. Service was poor, unfortunately, but i think it was because we used points for the room and that was pointed out at check-in. We were charged additional for a child staying with us, although we were given a city view room, which was nice. Location was terrific and room was very clean. Staff could have been much friendlier and welcoming. Also, ordered room service for breakfast and it was subpar for 88 euros. Only coffee, hot chocolate, juice, and pastries - I was very specific about the variety of pastry when speaking with attendant but received all of one kind and it took an hour to receive. Also, coffee came without cream or milk. Hot chocolate was excellent, however. I would try another hotel next visit to Paris.…
The location of the hotel, its decoration, its F&B et all is what I have come to expect from Park Hyatt : excellent. But what sets it apart is the warmth, helpfulness and efficiency of the staff : they will tend to your every need swiftly and precisely. Special mention : the concierge team provided extraordinary assistance even days before our arrival. Also, a last minute request for a table at Pur, their Michelin starred restaurant, was fulfilled with the use of the chef’s table : a lovely evening enjoying the food and chatting with the Chef and SousChef. I shall be back when in Paris and recommend you to try it.
The Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme is located in the legendary Rue de la Paix in Paris's posh 2nd Arrondissement - only few metres to Place Vendôme, Rue Saint Honoré, the Tuileries, Opéra and just right in the middle of everything. There is no better location to stay in Paris, which made it an ideal place for the stay with our parents (in law). Communication in advance including the Concierge's restaurant reservation service was excellent, whereas check-in was a little bumpy: Only one room was ready despite our pre-arrival communication and two deposits were requested even though we were assured that everything had been settled after the first one. Furthermore, we had a lengthy discussion at the front desk because the employees wanted to offer us a Twin instead of the requested King room. By the way: Deposit was only released upon our request one week after check-out. The room design was amazing - the golden carpet was particularly nice and also the artsy aspects impressive. Less pleasant was the state of our bathroom - the first we had issues with at any Park Hyatt property worldwide: The marble needs urgent refurbishment considering the damages, several molded areas could be found in wet areas and, most unpleasantly, the rain shower head was completely molded in green and blue! There was dirt and dust under the bed, brown stains on the tv programme card and deep scratches on the room door. In contrast, the welcome presents were extremely generous: A bottle of decent champagne, an amazingly decorated fruit arrangement of highest quality and lovely chocolate. How unfortunate that housekeeping threw the welcome card in the garbage during our short stay! A special shout-out to the breakfast: Apart from the coffee, whose quality was not satisfying - in hotels of this category a decent barista service could easily be expected - the breakfast selection and quality was absolutely outstanding - world-class taste! Service was mixed, some very friendly and helpful, other team members neglecting and ignoring. Quentin Carpier though is just the best - he always takes care of his guests in the most hospitable way! While one must give Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme credit for granting our parents (in law) a late check-out (5 pm), other encounters were less pleasant. When asking the Concierge about eye masks and larger slippers - both products are Hyatt Has It articles - we were recommended to get these at a pharmacy or at Monoprix, which is not quite the tone you would expect at a hotel that considers itself an ultra-luxury hotel. The same is true for the reactions to other "special' requests. For example, we had to ask for our second duvet three times and wait for several hours - That has rarely cost us the same amount of effort, to be more precise in eight hotels we stayed at during our previous vacation, Park Hyatt Paris was the only hotel, where it did not work right away! The Blaise Mautin bathroom amenities of highest quality must be complimented though. The gap between promise and delivery to us is a general issue with the hotel: even though our price, which we settled via Hyatt points seems OK, the current pricing scheme - rates start at 1,500 EUR exclusive of breakfast - is just way over the top. Even though Paris is a costly location, current pricing is insane and does not correspond with the reality of Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme at all! What remains from the experience? Well, Quentin Carpier left us a Blaise Mautin fragrant candle as a goodbye present - once more demonstrating his outstanding qualities as an employee. If only the management could keep up with this level of service mentality! Interest in the guest seems to fade right with departure, after three feedback messages within three weeks no response - just shameful for a property at this price range. And ridiculous if compared to competitors such as Raffles Paris Royal Monceau or Park Hyatt Bangkok... The lack of responsiveness was particularly disheartening, since we replied to an automated Hyatt survey, which had been deactivated before we were even able to respond. Responding to customer feedback is just a matter of polite behaviour. We would not expect anything in return, just decent interaction. The lack thereof prompted us to even reduce the number of TripAdvisor points by one to two because this type of customer service is close to offensive.…
A fantastic hotel, in a great location, with a very professional staff, especially the ones from the front desk and at the entrance. We were upgraded to a wonderful and large room. The room was very very clean and very well equipped. The bathroom was big and very clean. We stayed at a lot of hotels in Paris, but we must say, that this hotel is one of the best. No doubt we will be back.
Very Nice hotel and a fantastic staff. The staff was very helpful. Café Jeanne at the hotel is a must When you want to spend some time at the hotel. Good live Music in the café saturday night. Good food too. The breakfast was exceptional and again the staff was very attentive. Room good and when we arrived there was a nice bottle of red Wine and some macarons as a little welcome gift. The was little to no noise from the street. Would definately stay here again. Good comfortable beds.
Awesome property, professional staff and quiet stay! Special shout out to Jean Pierre at Concierge and Chloe from Guest services who organized the stretch limousine, restaurant reservation, river cruise and birthday cake at a short notice. Room was great, service was impeccable, breakfast was awesome. ONE ISSUE: I had breakfast at the hotel each day. First day I was billed EUR 104, yet for the same breakfast the second day I was billed $52. I paid the bill as I was running late for my flight but didn't understand why I was charged different rates. An explanation would have been nice. Came away with a sense that I was overbilled.
High level of Unprofessionalism… -Reception just very unprofessional . We are “globalist “ , so we already did booking suite , so we not waited for upgrade or something, but the guy from reception during check-in “ want to offer us better and more comfortable stay in bigger room just for extra charge 3000€ “ 😅 But we didn’t asked him for this .. so we said thanks, we want our suite . Then we decided to see this room and other guy from reception showed us that room and talk about different price ( 2000€) So how I can believe and who I can believe? - Also don’t like skin and dental amenity’s… sorry “made in china “ toothpaste is very shame .. - extra bed was without topper on mattress..
I have previously written about the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome. It's a beautiful hotel and the spa is really top notch. Usually great service and easy check-in although we had some issues this year with what seemed to be a new person. It's still the only hotel I know of in Paris that actually has a dedicated "cigar/smoking area" outside with heaters where there is a drinks service. This is a welcome amenity and attracts a lot of people who want to smoke cigars. The hotel also offers cutters, matches, and a torch lighter. The issue I have is with some of the changes that have taken place. Back in 2019, before COVID, my wife and I had New Year's Eve (NYE) dinner there. It was fantastic! When the dinner was over we mingled in the bar with the other international clientele and had a fantastic NYE. Unfortunately, this kind of experience is no longer available. The bar, which a lot considered one of the best hotel bars in Paris, has been ripped out and replaced with a meeting space. The bar the hotel now has is in the main dinning room. It wasn't open after our NYE dinner at all, so no mingling with other guests also celebrating NYE. One of the biggest changes/problems with this new layout is that the former lounge space in the hotel is now restaurant space, so if you wanted to meet someone in the lobby or simply lounge around while waiting for your ride, you can't. There's a somewhat annoying maitre d' stand where they act like it's a herculean task to let you sit at a lounge in your hotel at a table for a drink without a reservation. Basic problem solving skills aren't part of their job requirements. It wasn't formerly like this. Furthermore, prices at the bar have risen, tremendously, since 2019. While prices have risen everywhere it does seem like the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome is extra special. …
World class hotel and staff, who made my stay memorable. Can't thank the staff enough for all of their help in arranging reservations, special requests, etc. I would rank Park Hyatt Vendome at the top of the list - met and exceeded all expectations. Great location, great food and drinks, everything was perfect and cant wait to come back again.
I have never complained about a hotel experience before, but have never had an experience like this. As a Hyatt member and frequent traveler this is not an elite hotel. We had a horrible experience, and service is not anywhere near the level expected/paying for. The location is great, but everything else needs a lot of work and negatively impacted our family vacation in Paris. Staff/management are affable, but incompetent and everything, small and big, required several calls/follow-up. We had several room issues including getting one of our toilets fixed (broken and ran all night. After we reported it the first time, it required 2 more calls and a total of 3 trips by engineer to finally fix). We had items taken from our room (never experienced this before). We immediately reported to management thinking it might have been taken in error. Management apologized but did nothing. We followed up each day on the item, no response from the hotel. On our last day the manager on duty finally acknowledged the taken item, but at this point it was too late. This was obviously the most severe and concerning issue. But there were many other smaller issues which added up to impacting the stay and why we would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Prior to checking in the hotel staff reaches out to you via email to ask about anything they can do to help your stay. This was lovely, and we responded with a couple small items, emptying the room fridge for our son’s medication, and a birthday surprise in the room my wife arranged for me. The hotel confirmed/obliged both requests in advance via email which was great. Upon arrival, however, none of these asks were done. Required us to call and follow up 2 times before action taken. We had breakfast in the hotel our first day before timed entry to a museum. Our eggs were overcooked and inedible, the waitress apologized but we no longer had time to eat and had to eat. No follow up from the hotel (while we had planned on dining in the hotel each morning we ventured out thereafter). Upon check in you are asked for your preference in newspapers. Not one day did we receive a paper. I mentioned this day 2 to the manager, no response and we did not receive a paper any day of our stay. Our room was across from the housekeeping closet which they started work at 6am (vacuuming starting at 8). In short, stay somewhere else. For a vacation and a hotel supposedly of this level there were way too many issues, way too much aggravation and far too little response, let alone, acknowledgment. …
