Great location , a real oasis in the frenetic pace of tourist Paris. Small rooms but well equipped and very clean. Speedy breakfast useful on checking out day. We got croissants from a bakery so didn't have the full breakfast. Honesty bar a nice touch. Not too expensive compared to others locally.

Located close to the Luxembourg gardens and an easy walk to good restaurants. Small but well appointed rooms. Friendly staff. Minor downside is the narrow street on which it fronts so when taxis stop traffic behind is blocked.

Dear valued guest, Thanks you for your very nice review about Hotel Le Senat. The street at the front of the hotel ( rue de vaugirard ) is the longest street in Paris but even narrow it si very quiet where hotel is located. We hope to see you back very soon in Hotel Le Senat. This terrific little hotel is in the Latin quarter, on the left bank, near the Sorbonne University and Notre Dame (the Church started in the 1100s, not the football team stuck in the 1900s). Right next to the Palace Luxembourg. Highly recommend this place for the cost, location, and terrific room. Staff was super helpful too. And the room includes...

The Hotel Senat is on Paris' Left bank, just a stone's throw away from the Musee de Moyen Age (10 minutes walk) and the spectacular Jardin du Luxembourg, with its magnificent Medici Fountain, and baroque layout of trimmed hedges and trees, sculptures, urns, a marionette theatre (for children) and several enticing cafes. The hotel is welcoming and clean on first...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
