Detailed Reviews
The guy at the front desk was very helpful, patient and nice. He made us a list of recommendations of all kinds of places. And provided us with a lot of helpful information. Thank you so much!
The location was wonderful, no matter in which direction we left the hotel we always ended up in very nice streets (not too touristy / a lot of bars, restaurants / shops / galleries / markets / etc.) without walking longer than 3 minutes..
The design of the room was nice. But it was really very small - there was hardly space to even just open up the suitcase. Considering the insane real estate prices in Paris on the other hand probably normal and understandable.
Anyhow we would definitely highly recommend it to anyone who does not have a problem with little space in the room.
Again: We had a wonderful stay. If we come back to Paris we definitely come back to this hotel. Thank you so much for everything!

We had a short but lovely stay at Maison Saintonge. The location couldn’t have been more perfect for exploring the Marais, Bastille, Oberkampf, and Republique areas, and the street itself is very quiet. The room was well-appointed with beautifully scented soaps, shampoos, and an espresso machine with adorable cups. Our shower was very large by French/European standards which was a wonderful surprise after a red eye flight. When we left the lovely woman at the front desk gave us some candies for our train ride which was so appreciated! Merci mille fois!! Xx

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
When I first walked into my room I was taken aback by how tiny it was (less than 3 feet around the bed on all sides) - but that’s what you get for staying somewhere in Le Marais which is such a brilliant area. The sound insulation because of the age of the hotel is not good. Thankfully I was lucky enough to have upstairs guests who got up around the same time as me but I could hear almost every word and their furniture moving across the floor, using the bathroom etc.
The bath and shower products were divine (even though the en suite was again teeny tiny) and the room had everything I needed for my short trip.
The breakfast room and offering was amazing. Fresh pastries, fruits, pancakes, cheese, meat, macarons - you name it.
The front desk was always helpful and friendly.
In short, I would stay here again if travelling solo. The room (and bed) just was not big enough for two people. I’d worry about having noisy guests directly above or below also. But it’s such a charming hotel in such a fabulous area. Give it a try.

In a quiet 18th century street but within five minutes of a much larger one teeming with Parisian (resident rather than tourist) life in the upper part of the Marais, this is a lovely little hotel. The rooms are small, but nicely laid out, decorated, floored and furnished, their bathrooms, if also small, with classy fittings, and both, as well as the public spaces, spotlessly clean, with an enjoyable atmosphere about it all. The help-yourself breakfast is a generous spread ranging from fresh as well as dried and stewed fruit and fruit salad and juices and cereals and yoghurt through cold cuts and eggs and various kinds of cheese to good bbread and croissants to reasonable freshly made coffee. We found the receptionists at the desk helpful in every way we needed, with a natural charm, and deeply nice as people. Altogether a place where we’ll be happy to return.

This hotel is absolutely charming. The superior executive room we chose had stone floors and exposed beam ceilings, lovely eclectic decor and actually enough space to maneuver our two large American suitcases (sort of)! The front-desk staff, who are available 24/7, were helpful with recommendations, friendly and wonderful. There was a small elevator and the breakfast buffet, which is set up in a pretty little catacomb under the building, was taken from local bakeries and was absolutely delicious, served by a wonderful server, Ines. The location was a little off the beaten path, but we knew we'd be taking Ubers everywhere anyway because one of our party has mobility issues, and the neighborhood of Le Marais itself is a perfect home base for a Paris getaway. My only issue with the hotel is the bath/shower. I think it may be typical for a French hotel (not sure?) but the tub is so deep that our mobility-challenged traveler was not able even to climb into it; she roughed it and did a sponge bath each day, it was that hard to manage. If your party are fit and healthy you will probably also get clean. :) Despite that drawback, I highly recommend the hotel.

Dear apackage1169, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us, and we are also delighted to hear that our service lived up to your expectations. We're sorry to hear that you had a problem with your bathtub, but you should have let us know because we have rooms with walk-in showers where it would have been much easier for a person with reduced mobility to shower. We hope to see you again soon. Have a nice day, The reception team

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Monsieur Saintonge. Its in a great location for exploring Paris and is a really cute little hotel.
The service from the front desk was great and they were really helpful, friendly and polite.
We were unfortunately placed in a room on the ground floor out the back (I think it is the wheelchair friendly room) so while the room was really big; it meant we were next to the bag holding room so had people coming and going outside our room a lot, and we could also hear a lot of noise from the pipes in the building. Not a criticism by any means, just a comment on our experience in the room we had.

We were very excited to stay at the Maison Saintonge, but unfortunately when we arrived to check in we found out that the AC didn't work on a day with 93 degree weather. We said we'd give the room a try, but once we realized it wouldn't be tenable the hotel was very gracious in giving us a full refund and offering to help us find alternative accomodation. Selma at the front desk was especially understanding and helpful.
For the time we were at the hotel everything was in great shape and we found it all to be very charming. Definitely recommend!

This truely is a lovely and charismatic hotel with an almost Italian ambience about it, tucked away in a beautiful part of the city.
The staff are so friendly and warm which adds a lovely finish to the charm of the hotel.
I highly recommend the breakfast here - a buffet style presentation offering a selection of French pastries, breads, cheese, ham, fruit and much more, which is sure to prepare anyone for the day ahead - exploring the boutiques and diverse history of the Marais, visiting nearby galleries, etc, etc...on y va!

I enjoyed staying in this cozy and well-finished hotel. Situated in the core of the beautiful Marais, the hotel has a formidable position to reach everything in Paris. The room and its bathroom were quite small, but in my experience it is the norm in Paris. Nevertheless, there was everything you need to have a comfortable stay.
What is super is the staff: they are smart and always ready to offer advises and suggestions, whether your request is about how to call a taxi or booking an exhibition.
