After much trial and error over many years of visiting Paris, our favorite hotel WAS Hotel Le Saint (previously called St Vincent). We were so disappointed to find it gutted during Covid and a new hotel, Pavillon Faubourg Saint Germain, took its place. We stayed one night at PFSG and it just wasn't the same. We found a new hotel, Hotel Fougere, in the same neighborhood and decided to try it out. The location, just a block from Blvd St German, Cafe de Flore, and the restaurants on rue de Buci, was perfect. The decor of Hotel Fougere had the same warm, upscale, extremely tasteful furnishings that we loved about our old hotel. The "living room" area, where we had coffee served from a silver pot, was gorgeous. The woman receptionist was exactly the type of person you want representing your upscale hotel--warm, interested, engaging, helpful. Our room, though small, (Superior) was elegant and understated. We had a kettle for nightly tea, a tiny bathroom with shower, a large king bed, and a "closet" hidden behind a curtain. All of the fixtures and furnishings were what you would expect from a 4-5 star hotel. We moved to a bigger room (Deluxe) and I noticed the high quality linens seemed familiar. They were the same brand of beautiful linens as our favorite old hotel! (We loved the linens so much we bought a set many years ago.) Everything was perfection. The room and bathroom were much bigger and we had a much needed tub. The large window opened on to rue Bonapart, but there was no noise. As we were checking out, the owner of the hotel asked us about our stay. We told him we were sad that Le Saint closed, but now found our new favorite hotel in Paris. It turns out that the owner of Hotel Fougere is the former owner of Le Saint! No wonder we love Hotel Fougere! If you are looking for an elegant, upscale hotel in Paris with the most perfect location, run by very nice people, look no further than Hotel Fougere.…
Stayed at Hotel Fougere for 7 nights. The hotel is lovely, the staff is wonderful and the location is excellent. I look forward to returning. We especially want to give accolades to the following individuals who went above and beyond to make our stay so great! Thank you to Nirosh, Nandana, Rohan, Dominique, Vincent and Valentin. We appreciate your professionalism and wish you all good things!
The location was a minute from the metro station , the room was beautiful as piece of antique , elegant and cozy at the same .The hotel receptionist welcome us and the check in was easy as the check out. I stay one night and I wish I had time to stay more
St. Germain is my favorite neighborhood in Paris and love to stay there, but finding a hotel in good price and good shape is not easy… Hotel Fougère is hiden gem in the heart of St Germain. Is not cheap, but the price us very fair for what they offer. The location is perfect: just a few steps away from Bd. St. Germain, Les Deux Magots and Le Pré aux Clercs (very good restaurant). The only improvement they could make is in their acoustics, you can hear noises from inside the hotel and for some people It can be a problem.
I recently had a very nice stay at Hotel Fougere for 5 nights at 480 euros/nt. It was recently renovated and a great deal of effort had clearly been made to make the hotel comfortable and stylish. Here are the observations from my stay: - Vincent and Valentin (the Front Desk guys) were very nice, spoke great English and made sure that I received a room with a bathtub (not all have tubs). - Despite my 2nd floor room facing the busy Rue Bonaparte, it was quiet when the windows were shut. (It was stuffy too given that the fan didn't work.) - My Deluxe room was nicely decorated and extremely clean. - Apart from the inability to get the thick body lotion out of the hard plastic bottle, the toiletries were pleasant and fresh smelling. - The common area on the main floor was lovely with many fresh floral bouquets. There was an honesty bar, comfortable seating area and electric fireplace that unfortunately didn’t work. - I sent some travel clothes out to be laundered and they were returned cleaned and pressed that same day. Areas for Improvement: • My shower inexplicably had no door. Consequently, water went all over the bathroom floor each time I showered and since it was made of marble, it was very slippery and a safety hazard. Please consider installing shower doors! • The body lotion smelled wonderful but was super thick and nearly impossible to get out of the bottle. (FYI- this kind of lotion was made for a squeeze tube rather than a hard plastic bottle.) • The thermostat in my room never worked. I didn't need heat or air conditioning during my Feb. 2023 stay, just a fan so there could be some moving air because it grew rather stuffy in the room at night with the windows shut for safety/quiet. Touching different buttons on the thermostat made no difference. Maybe it was a dummy switch? • It would be good to have someone inspect rooms in between guests and maintain equipment in general. In my room #24, upon arrival the bathroom sink was largely stopped up and the kettle didn’t work given that it had been left unplugged behind the mini fridge. Not sure why the cleaning staff did not notice this. Also, the breakfast tea bags weren’t replenished so I had to ask for more. The fireplace in the lounge did not work. • 2 strange men barged into my room one morning while I was getting ready. The door was shut but unlocked given that the staff had just been by to help with the non-working kettle and sink. The Front Desk Lady said that these men were 2 new guests who were "confused" but I do wonder why their key worked in the lock of my door. Anyways, I would suggest that the staff show new guests to their rooms to avoid mixups like this.…
A lovely hotel in a great location. The decor is very pretty and comfortable , the staff were really helpful. Very easy to find and good links to the metro Mabillon or saint Germain des pres. plenty of restaurants around for evening meals
We liked the location and the staff, very friendly. But if you have a room with a bathtub showering is almost impossible. there is no hook for the shower and you make the bathroom completely wet. If I knew this when I booked the room with bathtub, that I couldn't shower normal, i wouldn't have booked the room. Then te breakfast, I think the hotel can do a bit more. It's just a croissant, yoghurt and a piece of bread with jam. No egg, ham or cheese. And when you want to order this it is very expensive, I think this is part of a breakfast you can expect in a hotel of this quality. I liked the atmosphere in this hotel and the staff was nice. But it can do better so they can take it really to the next level.
Hotel Fougere is a perfect hotel if you find a hotel close to louvre and seine river. It is really conveninet to buy something in the department stores, which are located in Opera station. Also the hotel staffs are so gentle, so if you feel any trouble during travel, they sincerely help you. The rood condition is perfect. The breakfast is also nice. I really recommend this hotel.
Spent my 25th annivewrsary there and we couldnºt be more happy. Fantastic location, close to shops, restaurants and metro. The service was super kind and friendly. The room kept the features of the building with all the modern facilities.
All in all a comfortable and well serviced Hotel in the heart of St. Germain with lots of cafés, restaurants and shops/ showrooms. Very quite even located on a busy street. All room sizes work. Nice atmosphere
