While the hotel itself was old and did not smell so fresh, I have to say that the staff was extremely personable. They tried to be as accommodating as possible. This hotel needs a major makeover. Aside from that the location was good. The buffet breakfast in the morning for $16.50 was ridiculous for what they serve!

Dear guest thank you for your review, We are happy that the staff was helpful and friendly, The hotel proposed two type of menus for the breakfast, - One at 6,9 € which is comparable to a continental breakfast - The other is a Buffet at 16€ which offers plenty of salty and sweet french products: The croissants and the... Very run down and dingy hotel. Strong musty smell in room coupled with strong perfume to cover it up. Missing amenities, no tv remote, no iron. Only pluses are price and hotel location. Would not stay here in the future.

Dear guest, Thank you for your feed back, We would like to point that we do have iron to borrow at the reception, as well as adaptators, extra towels, also and we do room service. Indeed the price for value for this location is quite really competitive. We are sorry for the bad smell you could have experienced. Some better... More

With an ideal location and polite & smiling reception stuff, this hotel was made affordable. If it wasn't for these two, staying would be unbearable. Dirty, full of cracks and moisture on walls. broken furniture, never cleaned the area behind the heater, not one single hook in the bathroom for the towels, an elevator "horror" for any claustrophobic. The only... More

Sometimes you get what you pay for; not here! It was better than I expected in every way! Close to the train, cafes, shopping, and sites! My room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the shower powerful. The staff was gracious and allowed me to leave my bag before and after check in, were quick to ask if I needed... More

In need of a budget hotel close to Rue de Rivoli I stumbled across this hotel. It was typical of the style of the area with large sweeping staircases to the top of the building. My third floor room was of a good size, although I'm not sure I needed a double bed and two singles! Bathroom was a little... More

We were expecting a Family Room, but that it would be small. We got a couple extra beds stuffed into a cramped room. Bathroom had broken fixtures, mold and sloppy caulking, also cramped. Elevator was scary, and only possible to carry two persons. We had to pay for one night based on the cancellation policy, so we managed and booked... More

We could not believe we find a hotel so dirty and old and poor in Paris. We spent a very bad night there. The breakfast is horrible. Poor and everything looks dirty. The carpet smell so bad. You could see dirty for everywhere. Nerve more

We stayed here for a week and the hotel is definitely charming. The staff are wonderful and the location is terrific. My room was overlooking the main street and very noisy. I enjoyed Tonic Hotel, however the walls are very thin, and the rooms a bit more shabby than charming.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
