We stayed here because we were going to Moulin Rouge, it's 2 minutes walk away! The road up and down from the hotel is full of sex shops and clubs but we expected this from the district it is in. Quite a noisy road, fine in the winter with the windows closed as the double glazing blocks out most of...

This is very nice and charming hotel in Montmartre just few blocks from Sacre-Coeur... ston throw from the place that Amelia worked :) and few steps to metro station... It's nice, it's clean, it has helpful and friendly staff and from some rooms you can see the Eiffel Tower :) and with such view you can enjoy the Paris. We...

This hotel is right in the center of the action. It's in Montmartre, the red-light district of Paris, right on the Boulevard de Clichy, Blanche Metro stop across the street, down the street from the Moulin Rouge. If you don't mind sex shops and that sort of thing, it's really a nice place to stay, in a bohemian area of...

Right in the "entertainment" district, however had no issues staying here as a single woman, felt quite safe as it was always busy. Need to be broadminded, as the street is full of sex shops, etc. Great location for exploring Montmartre. Room was small, as expected, but clean and with a newly renovated bathroom. Loved the decor. Friendly feel to the...

Le Chat Noir was a great hotel and I would absolutely recommend it! Very boutique-y, very clean and the staff were really great. Our room was small but we expected that and we had no issues with the size. The decor was really nice, the bed really comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful, although the shower wasn't the most practical...

At first we were a little apprehensive as the hotel is in the middle of the red light district. However is actually is a great location, moments walk from monmartre it proved to be the perfect base. The rooms were good, clean and spacious. I would recommend it particularly if you wish to go to the Moulin Rouge which is...

I stayed there in 2008 (yes, long ago but I did not join TripAdvisor in those days) for 3 nights. I chose it because I am a cat lover. It was a good experience in terms of the decoration & decoration. The gentleman at the concierge was friendly enough and I managed (using my rusty French) to chat with him...

On first impression, after arriving at Blanche Metro station, you wonder where exactly you have chosen to stay. Le Chat Noir is in the Montmartre district of Paris, just metres from the Moulin Rouge and surrounded by tacky gift and sex shops. However, it doesn't feel particularly unsafe & you soon become immune to the seedy side of the area...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
