My husband and I spent a week at Hotel Malte in February 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were greeted every morning by the friendly front desk staff including manager Alex, Thomas, Maxime, Manon. They helped us purchase a 6-day Museum Pass (a good deal), negotiate the Metro, and find good restaurants. They all speak excellent English, and they were very kind to help me practice my French. Generally, they just made us feel very welcomed.

The hotel room was a good size, attractively decorated, and very clean. We paid a bit more for the inclusive room & breakfast, and breakfast was delicious and very generous. Every day we enjoyed scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, yoghurt, crepes, cheeses, smoked salmon and excellent cafe or cappuccino.

Also, the hotel’s location is just a few blocks from the Louvre and very convenient to many museums, shopping, restaurants and the Metro.

We hope to return soon and we recommend it highly.

Visited Paris as a family of three (two adults and a teen) and stayed at the hotel Malte. The location was perfect, walkable to the Opera and Louvre districts with easy access to metro for farther trips, but also just off the main streets so you do get to traffic noise.

The room was small by American standards, especially for 3 people, but it was ok. The extra bed was surprisingly comfortable. The only real downside to the room was the lack of any drawer of cabinets. If you want to unpack you only have a couple of shelves and some rods for hanging. Also of note, they don’t provide wash clothes with the towels — I’m not sure if this is a cultural thing.

The included breakfast was good, much nicer than what you’ll find in most American hotels, but the variety doesn’t change. It’s the exact same selection every day which can get tedious on a longer trip.

Finally, it’s worth nothing that neither the “open bar” each afternoon and evening, nor the included in-room mini-bar, includes alcohol. It’s juice, water, and snacks. That’s fine, and still appreciated, but different than what I had thought when I saw they included an open bar.

The staff was the gem of our Christmas in Paris. Great recommendations for things to do and really had us feeling well cared for. We had a total of 5 rooms and all were clean and up to date(the economy room was perhaps small, but not for Europe, so splurge if you’re an American used to open spaces)

We had a small wedding planned in the city and “Amaury” was beyond helpful in helping us sort out some last minute details. They were so kind and helpful with children- 2yo &10 mo.
The snack bar and commons area were definitely a nice perk for our family to have a meet up spot. Will definitely look at their other properties as we continue our attempt to see the world.

I stayed at Hotel Malte with my sister from 8-12 April on a bed and breakfast basis. Check-in was not until 2pm but we arrived at 11am and our room was ready. Our room overlooked a small court yard. It was quiet and spotless. Our rooms were cleaned and tidied daily. There was a bathrobe each and slippers, also a bath sheet and hand towel each as well as a hairdryer, hand soap and body lotion. The mini fridge in the room contained bottles of water (still and sparkling), orange juice and cans of pop (coke, etc). The location was fantastic, very central to lots of attractions.

The variety of breakfast foods on offer was very good. It is self service. It differed each day but offered hot and cold foods, various breads and cakes, cheeses and meats, cereals, scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. fruits and yogurts. There were also various juices, various teas and various coffees. We also liked the fact you could get breakfast until 10.30am weekdays and 11am at weekends. It was great that you could pop into any of the Astotel chain of hotels in the area for soft drinks and snacks (at no extra charge) or to use their toilet facilities and you are given a map of all the different locations around Paris on arrival.

The staff were great, always very friendly and helpful. It was nice that we were offered a bottle of water each to take for our journey home. They also booked taxis for us when required. The reception was manned 24/7.

We definitely felt that Hotel Malte offered a great service and was great value for money. We have both said we would go again if we came to Paris and can highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed for three nights in this beautiful hotel. Just entering to the beautiful lobby we were encountered by super helpful staff who is -at least- trilingual. They provide you all day with refreshments at their lobby and also you can use their 17 locations around Paris to rest, use the restrooms or have some snacks.
The room was beautiful and big enough for European standards, it was perfectly cleaned everyday by a very polite crew.
The location was incredible because it is a pretty quite street just two blocks away form the Louvre museum. You have access in a walking distance to different Metro entrances.
If I have the opportunity to visit Paris in the future I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this same hotel.

Service, service, service. That is what made our trip so amazing. The entire team of staff has been nothing but amazing. From the staff at the front desk to the cleaners they have been amazing. Special shout out to Alejandro and Irene who went out of their way to make our stay special.

My partner and I visited for our anniversary and the team surprised us with a bottle of champagne and a handwritten note. So couldn’t ask for a better service.

The hotel itself is basic in facilities and there isn’t any room service (no in room catering apart from breakfast). However, the hotel has free coffee from a machine available 27/7 and a range of dry snacks and cold drinks available from 2pm till 2am which is a life saver if you’ve been on your feet the whole day or come back from a late night out.

Rooms are quite spacious for the price and the mini fridge has a selection of a few soft drinks and water which is free.

The cherry on top is the absolutely amazing location between Le Louvre and the Opera, close to some amazing ramen restaurants (such as Kodawari ramen) and cafes such as cafe Kitsune.

10/10 - we’ll definitely be coming back!

My wife and I just returned from two weeks at the Hotel Malte. One expects good service, but the entire staff exceeded our expectations. The room was immaculate , cleaned early in the day. The linens are of high quality. The front desk staff are very helpful with dinner reservations, museum information and showing us how to use the laundromat down the street. Alex walked me over, explained operating I instructions and returned thirty minutes later to make sure all was fine.
Daily breakfast is very good. A nice selection to suit all tastes.
Paris metro was on strike during Deco Off and Fashion Week. Juan always got us a car.
When you want a good value in central Paris the Hotel Malte is excellent. We will return. Kudos to manager Stephanie Cohen for her well trained staff.

Superb location

10 min walk from Louvre, 15 min from Musee D'Orsay, 20 min from Notre Dame, 30 min from Champs De Elysee, etc, with lots of cafes along the routes should you need to rest with a drink and watch the word go by !

There are also several Metro and Bus stops within 5-10 mins walk.

The ‘Superior Double’ room was a little on the small size with no drawers / cupboards for clothes, just one open hanging rail and 2 high shelves. Free soft drink fridge in the room, restocked every day. Wouldn’t like to see how small a ’standard double’ is, but the room was very clean and quiet (5th floor).

Breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of cereals & fruits, hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs) and loads of breads with cheeses & hams as well as a large range of croissants / cakes. The croissants & cakes and a few savoury crisps & snacks (as well as cold & hot drinks) were refreshed from 2pm to 2am every day, so ideal for a late-night snack before bed. You could also use this free snack service in other Astotels so great for a rest when you're out and about elsewhere too (there is one 2 minutes from Moulin Rouge).

Hotel staff were excellent, always smiling and able to assist with queries re directions / taxi, etc

Not cheap for such a small room and the inclusion of breakfast without paying extra would have been better, but you are right in the centre of Paris so maybe the cost is not so surprising.

We stayed at this lovely little hotel for three delightful nights! An art deco theme, the lighting showcases men's top hats, beautiful and thoughtful touches throughout the rooms and hotel. The rooms are made up everyday, there is a complimentary bar in the room with juices and sparkling water that are also replenished daily. The placement of this hotel is very Central to the city, we were able to walk to the Louvre approximately 15 minutes away, and used the underground to get everywhere in just minutes .

Our group of friends are from the USA, our first visit to Paris and as none of the three of us speak French had some trepidation about getting around and finding things.
The staff at the front desk, without exception, were helpful , accessible, kind, and eager to make sure we had the very best experience in their City.
They recommended restaurants and walking directions to get there, answered questions, navigated us to the various tourist sites, gave helpful tips regarding shopping, and were genuinely interested in us as people. Lovely manners, very professional, and all bilingual.

Food! OMG! Full breakfast including meats and cheeses, hot foods, pastries also, and an evening reception which featured various pastries, nuts ,fresh fruits and juices and other drinks.
We would strongly recommend this Lovely and Cozy hotel and plan to stay there when we travel to Europe again!
Our deep gratitude to all of the staff that made our stay so delightful!

The hotel was located within easy walking distance from the Opera, Louvre and many good restaurants. The three of us were placed in two rooms, one with a king size bed and a bathroom and the next room with a double bed and no bathroom. Each room had a small refrigerator with complimentary soft drinks and water which was appreciated. A small breakfast buffet was included. Our rooms were on the first floor with windows facing a children's play area so we had to keep our curtains always closed. It was a bit of an odd room.

Thank you minnesotans4 for your review and positive comments regarding our location, we very much appreciate it. Our hotel has an indoor courtyard that guests can access at their leisure. However we do not have a playground for kids so we are unsure what exactly you are referring to. In any case we apologize if you were inconvenienced in any way during your stay. Please note that all of our bedrooms are equipped with bathrooms. We hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you again very soon at the Hotel Malte – Astotel. Stéphanie Cohen – Director

This was actually the first question I asked when I arrived right after the protests in the spring. Typically, Paris does a great job keeping the riffraff out of the tourist areas, so if you're not planning on venturing outside of that area (not recommended anyways), you should be okay. When I asked the front desk, the very helpful young man joked that rioting was Paris' national sport. I hope this helps ease your mind. If you Google many of the places seen in the riot videos, you will see that they are not in the "downtown" area of Paris and all are happening at night. Also, commie Macron finally decided to crack down on the riots and deployed 45,000 police officers over the weekend. We only stayed for about 48 hours and had an enjoyable time. Good luck!

We had a fifth floor street view. The hotel only uses AC in the summer (makes sense), so since we were there in April and the room was a little warm, we opened the window during the day to cool it off. At night we were able to close the windows and rest well. No noise from street or neighboring rooms. Since you're going in June, you'll have AC so either a garden or street view will work nicely. Enjoy!
