Positive part about this hotel is location. 2 mins walk from metro Anvers and Sacre Coeur. but the room is so bad, so in my opinion better pick up a hotel a bit further from metro but with decent facility then stay in bearnais. We were staying in room overlooking courtyard. and in the morning from window come not fresh...

A terrific location, and inexpensive for the city. The room was clean and warm, albeit very basic. I stayed as a single, in a twin room, with tv (French programmes only) and a hairdryer. One towel and one tiny soap per bed, but ample hot water and good pressure on the shower. My friends and I paid on arrival and...

I booked this purely as I wanted a triple room in the Montmartre area. I wouldn't return. The lady on reception only knew how to say "you pay me now" in English, our room was through a courtyard with scaffolding each side, the door handle to the room was broken. Not a good start. Saying that, the room was warm...

Bearnais was exactly what we were looking for...modest,clean, helpful staff with a great location and a good down to earth price. We didn`t opt for breakfast at 7.20 euros each. There are 2 grocery stores on either side of the hotel on rue d`Orsel and you can breakfast in the room for 3 euros between you. The room 7 on...

Spent last weekend at this hotel. The hotel has been owned and run by the same family since World War One! It is in a fabulous position if, like us, you love the 18th. We stayed in triple rooms 8 and 9 on the second and third floor respectively. Both rooms were ensuite with hot showers with good water pressure....

When I first went to look at this hotel it seemed pleasent enough. The rooms are large with plenty of space, but perhaps a little shabby. I booked two rooms for three nights as there was a large group of us. After reading reviews I asked that the rooms be on the 1st or 2nd floor which the guy on...

My stay at Hotel Béarnaise in Montmartre was perfect. Overlooking the neighborhood adjacent to the hotel, I found this accommodation to be all I was in need of. The room was relatively spacious and en suite. The shower was an efficiency model but totally functional and provided plenty of hot water. My room also had a color TV with local...

I found this hotel by chance. Rates were fine (60 euro for a single room). I was at upstairs, and yes there were some disturbing noise from the nearby rooms (it might have street noise if I had stayed downstairs). But, it was not too bad, clean, even has a refrigirator. There was 5 euro per night for wi-fi. It...

The only thing recommending this hotel is the price. Nobody spoke any English. I was in a ground floor room on an inside courtyard complete with large trash cans. People coming and going all night. I pushed a bed against the door and slept with the lights on. Horrible!

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
