This location is incredible and I got quite a good deal on it - like $134 / night. I wasn't looking for a five-star experience; I know a 3-star needs to have comfortable amenities yet won't change my life with the details; all while not exacting a fortune from my wallet. So based on that description, this hotel is absolutely...

We had a beautiful time recently in Paris. Hotel wonderful, staff very nice and helpful and fantastic location. Could not wish for a better area to stay so accessible for restaurants, bars and sightseeing. Hotel was very quaint, lovely rooms and very clean. Staff could not be nicer. We will certainly return next year. I would highly recommend. Aitken

This hotel has everything I look for, great location, good value, friendly staff. My wife and I were actually expecting to be in another Best Wesern Hotel in the St. Germain area, and were skeptical about being in a hotel other than the one we were expecting. We were very pleased at the welcome from the staff and the comfortable...

We just returned from a great trip to Paris and Provence. While in Paris, we stayed at the Hotel L'univers, located on St Gregorie De Tours ( 6th arrs.). It was lovely. Very clean , updated, we had a nice size bath with marble and large tub and sink. room was small, but nicely decorated with french decor! windows are...

The room was tiny. The price was good. The desk staff were BEYOND excellent. The location was super duper great. Right in the heart of everything. Close to subways. Close to major tourist attractions. Close to pubs. Close to great food. And yet quiet at night. Clean. Quiet. OLD but not in the "oh dear this is old" but in...

Staff was helpful and friendly and fluent in English. Good location close to lots of shopping and Bistros nearby. Walkable ( 15 Min or so) to Musee d'Orsay, Louvre, Notre Dame and short walk to Metro for longer trips. Rooms were typical of older European hotel, smallish but comfortable. 10 Euro breakfast was not bad, served in an interesting, small...

Having stayed at other Best Western hotels we were confident when we did book this one, only to realize our mistake when we got there. Unfortunately, this is not only a very old building, but the place was poorly managed. After several complaints of replacing a light fixture, they never did fix it. The room and its closet were cramped...

This hotel was very nice. Well decorated. Great breakfast. Small rooms which is expected in most large European cities. What my wife liked about this hotel was the location. When you walk out the front door you are right in the middle of cafes, shops, restaurants. The subway was a short walk away if needed. 10-15 minute walk to Notre...

I have stayed at this small hotel 3 times in the last 15 years; this time with my family. The rooms are small but well equipped, beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom is very adequate even by American standards though a shower curtain or glass would be helpful. Breakfast is a real treat... good coffee, pain au chocolat, scrambled eggs, sausages,...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
