When we travel to Paris, we always stay on Saint Louis Island. The location cannot be beat. I mistakenly booked Hotel Saint-Louis en I'lsle, instead of our usual hotel, but we liked this hotel even better. We had room 501, which was on the top floor and found the room to be very quiet, roomy and comfortable. Denis from the...

The smaller island next to notre dame is our favorite. Great location. We have always wanted to stay in this hotel. We have stayed in its sister hotel. The rooms are very very small and we have the superior double for 205 euros per night. I think it is overpriced somewhat. The bed coverings are minimal. No duvets and terrible...

lovely little hotel, with fantastic service, great location on the beautiful Saint Louis Island on the river Seine. not much room in the room or bathroom, but we got a lovely balcony with fantastic views of all going on up and down the street. small lift or stairs. ok breakfast in the basement, different but nice. only complaint was a...

We came here for the location, and it was the right choice to make. ADVANTAGES: --5 minutes to Notre Dame, maybe 10 to Sainte Chapelle, and to all that the Ile de la Cite has to offer --45 minute walk takes you through Luxembourg Gardens and on to Bon Marche and Hermes and the fun of the left bank --another...

We spent 12 nights in a 4th floor double room and were very pleased. The neighborhood is WONDERFUL and we felt safe and familiar. There are many great restaurant choices within steps of the hotel which meant a lot to us after long days out and about. Our room was pretty and comfortable. Bathroom was exceptionally efficient, particularly in terms...

This small hotel is wonderfully located on Ille St. Louis which is an affluent, urban island in the Seine River in the heart of Paris. Our room was of reasonable size given Parisian standards and nicely appointed. The price was good given the primo location. Convenient stores and good restaurants are on the same street. The staff was very helpful....

Excellent communications prior to arrival. We arranged to have the hotel pick us up at CDG and after traveling since the night before it was nice to have someone meet us and take us directly to the hotel. The hotel also recommended a restaurant, L'llot Vache right on the same street and it was a great restaurant for our first...

Wow! What a nice hotel (boutique-style) with well-decorated rooms (though naturally small) in the none-better location of the Isle Saint Louis in the heart of Paris. For only 225E (in Paris!) our room was nice, with a comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we were 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, St. Germain, the Marais,...

Lovely, small hotel in great location on Isle Saint-Louis. Metro stations, Notre Dame and fun shopping in Le Marais are 5-10 minutes away. The room we occupied on the top floor was efficient, clean and roomy enough to hold our ridiculously large suitcases. FYI, the closet was small for hanging clothes (shirts and jackets - nothing long) and there was...

This is a nice small hotel in a quiet neighborhood on Ile Saint Louis. Great location. 7 minute walk to Metro & RER. 5 minute walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. Comfortable beds, Air Conditioning, and polite staff. No restaurant on site. Has a buffet Breakfast for Euro 13.00. But, I suggest going to one of the Cafe's down the street....

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
