We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel de Lutece! It is ideally situated on I'le St Louis ... easy walking distance to everything! Very near Notre Dame, the old Marais and Bastille districts among many other areas. The hotel is very nicely appointed for a medieval building and remains true to its history ... lovely common area with some very... More

Locate on the Ile St. Louis, this small hotel is a perfect base from which to explore Paris. Right near Notre Dame, within walking distance of many sights. Metro can get you anywhere else you want to go in a matter of minutes. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a bit small by US standards, but typical for hotels of... More

We just loved everything about this hotel, from the wonderful staff, ( I can't say enough nice things about them, they were terrific), to the amazing people we met who were also staying there. Our room was pretty small but very comfortable and spotless when we returned each night. The location was great, not only for getting around Paris but... More

My husband and I stayed in this charming hotel for 7 nights in April 2011 and had a wonderful stay there. Our room was on the top floor with a timber beamed ceiling and was oozing with character. It was reasonably spacious with a comfortable bed, table with 2 armchairs and a large modern bathroom. There was plenty of cupboards... More

This is a wonderful hotel, Small, compfortable and in a very quiet location - very welcome in the middle of a bustling city. Friendly welcome by excellent staff - shown up to our rooms in a tiny lift. Full of character. The rooms, while not huge, are clean and comfortable and the bathrooms very well appointed. The bed are firm... More

Hotel de lutece is terrific. The rooms are a bit small but the bathrooms are very generous. The staff is super. The location can't be beat. We walked everywhere! Even to the Arc de Triomphe! Lots to see and do in the neighborhood, good restaurants, great ice cream, fun cafes.

My wife and I, in our 70s, stayed in this hotel for six nights in May 2012. Our double-bed room was small but with a lot of storage and excellent modern bathroom. The hotel itself is tiny, facing the narrow, elegant, interesting, rue St-Louis-en-l'Ile, itself an attraction in its own right. The hotel lobby is engaging, with a sofa, armchairs... More

My husband, 1 year old daughter and I recently traveled Paris and stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We were very pleased with the hotel, especially the location which is very near the Marais, St. Germain, Latin Quarter and Notre Dame. Ile Saint-Louis is a beautiful and quaint island with excellent cafes and Berthillon ice cream... yum! The hotel... More

My friend and I shared a room in Lutece and we both found the room cozy and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the staff were charming. This hotel in on Isle de st. We stayed at this charming hotel in 2009 and enjoyed this area of Paris so much that we rented an apartment on the same street for our recent May visit which was more extended. I had difficulty ordering a taxi the night before we left for early morning the next day to get to the airport for our return home.... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
