The hotel is not something amazing or with extra comforts,or with facilities but i thing if you go to Paris...that is something we do not need because ,we were exploring Paris all day and we stayed at the hotel for ours sleeping...

While being only a few blocks from the Pantheon (must see - more than just famous dead people here), public gardens in the back of the hotel (our room overlooked them) and just about 7 blocks, or a few Metro stops from Notre Dame - the actual location of the hotel isn't in the safest of neighborhoods. I didn't feel...

Just returned from 3 night stay at Hotel Arenes. Had been slightly apprehensive having read varying reviews but have to say we were more than happy with our choice. Located approx 10-15 min walk from Notre Dame in what felt quite a safe & pleasant area for 2 women! The owner/manager lived up to previous reviews and his sales pitch...

Myself and my husband just spent 4 days here in Feb 2008. I found the room to be very tidy and comfortable, it was small but there was enough room to put a suitcase either side of the bed. We were on the first floor in room 17 which is to the front of the hotel but any noise from...

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, i went with my boyfriend and the room wasn't big, but it feats perfectly for 2. The bathroom was very clean and although the window of the room was to main street, there wasn't any noise at night. There are 2 metro stations close by and the best is that you can...

We were with a group of teenagers and adults on a group tour and stayed at this hotel. The hotel is small and quaint but very clean. That's of great importance to me!! The room we were in was a bit small, as was the bathroom, but we truly only used the room to bathe and sleep in. The pillows...

We have stayed on Des Arenes a couple of times and this is a fine small tourist hotel. The rooms are small but there are all the facilities that you expect like a safe deposit, a minibar, TV, aircondition etc. The place is clean and in good condition and the reception is friendly and speaks english. You might want to...

The man, I think the owner, at the front desk is the worst aspect of this hotel. He is very pushy for upselling tours etc. Even tried to charge us considerably more for the room than we had arranged through Wotif. Once he saw our paper work it was OK. Once you have got past him, the hotel is quite...

The best thing about the Hotel des Arènes is certainly its location, just steps away from two underground/subway stations (Cardinal-Lemoine & Place-Monge) & in a very nice & safe neighbourhood. Ask for a room overlooking the Arènes (Roman theatre turned into a public garden) & complete quiet at night is guaranteed! Rooms & bathrooms tend to be small, but they're...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
