The strenght of this plase is its position. We have been here for 3 nights for a quick trip in Paris and we were able to reach any point of the city in a blink of eye. Moreover, the receptionist were very friendly, particularly Luisa who was excellent in welcoming us.
This used to be my go to hotel in Paris, not any more. From arrival the signs were not good. The hotel bar was no longer in use, supposedly due to covid but every other bar in Paris is open, no offer of welcome points. Room a bit tired, air con not working, no international channels on the tv. I requested some vegan options for breakfast but hotel didn’t even have any soya milk so had to go out myself and buy some milk from a local shop, total lack of interest from guy at front desk. Location is about the only thing going for it, but at 220 euros a night I am sure there are better hotels in the area. Great shame
Had a family room which was fine for the three of us. Large bathroom, good Wifi. The hotel is just across from the St Placide metro and the Rennes metro stations. No gym but the Luxembourg Gardens and the Eiffel Tower are all within easy walking or jogging distance, which is a much nicer experience than a treadmill anyway. There are loads of cafes and restaurants nearby, and the whole area has a laid back and relaxed vibe. There is parking underground on site, but central Paris is not car friendly so we parked there and just used the metro after arrival. There are lots of rental scooters and bikes available in the vicinity too. The hotel serves a reasonable buffet breakfast - but please, please invest in a better coffee machine rather than urns of American coffee. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The lobby has lots of seating for working or chilling if you wish, as the bar is currently closed.…
We stayed for 3 nights as last step before Eurostar. Booked Executive Room which was on the 7th floor, facing the courtyard and surprisingly there was even partial view to the Eiffel Tower from the distance. At night it was really quiet and we could open skylight windows instead of using the aircon. The room is dated and there is nothing executive in it. I asked for bathrobe and slippers but I was denied it. No coffee machine or extra bathroom amenieties either. No free water either. As gold member I have not received my usual welcome drink as bar was closed, I got points instead. It was disappointing in the middle of Paris. Although we booked a rate with breakfast we did not use it after first visit. We did not feel It was covid safe to crowd loads of people to the small basement with no windows or detectable ventilation. Tables were within centmeters from each other, some were communal. No one way system, no service, all help yourself among loads of people. It felt unsafe and claustrophobic to subject yourself to such environment. I raised it with the reception but apparently „nobody else was complaining”. Well covid rules are universal and this is supposed to be IHG property with certain protocols despite the fact if people put up with these failures or not. We eventually resolved the dispute but I wish there was no reason to raise it in the first place. Also guests from different rooms were mixing in the lifts which is not allowed in other hotels we were visiting in France this holiday. The best thing about this hotel is the location, you can easily reach it by metro from Gare du Nord - directly by line 4. For Gare du Lyon it is with one change but also short ride. Everything is at your doorstep, you can walk wherever you like. Loads of cafes, bakery shops or fashion shopping nearby. Main tourist sights can be walked to between 20 min and 1 hr if you are into exploring by foot during covid. Overall I would stay again for the location and quiet room but service and amenties must improve. We were told they are about to renovate.…
Good service Reliable wifi Breakfast was nice Bed was comfortable Staff are friendly Location is great Close to a good restaurant called L'Horizon and many others. We stayed for 3 nights and would stay here again. If you want to shop there is an H and M one street away amongst other boutiques
I choose this hotel mainly because it was in St Germain area which I like and also as it has car parking spaces at extra charge in the hotel basement. You cannot book the parking spots but when we arrived they have two left (2pm on a Saturday) and they were so helpful as to parking the car (note the carpark is probably the smallest spaces and turns I have ever seen and I'm in a mini! so forgot a larger car). The reception are one of the most friendly I've encountered in Paris and the receptionist lady couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. She explained the hotel air con was not working and would deduct immediately 40 euros off the bill and also give us the car park free of charge (45 euros). The room was a Executive Deluxe King Room and a good size compared to many in Paris but we did pay extra for a larger room as a standard would be half the size. .For a 4 * hotel I don't expect calc build up or mould in the bathroom but it did have quite a bit sadly and a shower in the bath which is not up to a executive room standard. The shower was very powerful which flooded the bathroom floor. The bed was great and very comfortable as larger than a double but the carpet a bit dirty from age. The sofa bed looked worse for wear and I would not have liked to have pulled it out due to being old and a looked dirty and worn. Overall a very friendly hotel, an average clean room but could do with some work on the bathroom by cleaning the mould and calc off and changing the bath to a walk in shower with some touching up as the bathroom quality was tacky. Also could do with new furniture as the leather is dated and old. Big thankful to the friendliest receptionist in Paris !…
We stayed here for my wife's 50th birthday and had the balcony room with a view of the Eiffel Tower. This place has the perfect location to attractions, plenty of restaurants near by and the metro was nice and close . The staff were friendly and helpful
Stayed here with my Son to go to the PSG game. All the staff were very friendly and polite. All spoke good English. The hotel was very clean and the room was nice. A good location for exploring Paris. Location wise it is a minute walk from Saint-Placide Metro station. The Breakfast was also very nice and is served between 7-11. I will definitely stay here again for the next match
Recently did 3 nights in this hotel, for such reasonable price the hotel is situated in a great location. Within 5mins of Montparnasse and hundreds of shops cafe's and restaurants. I'm visiting Paris again in July 2020 and will be booking this hotel again. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean and tidy. Thank you for being lovely host. My son loved his stay. Miss you Paris.
Recently I found myself staying at the property and received sad news of the sudden death of my mother which led to me needing to change my arrangements and fly home immediately. The hotel were unwilling under these sad circumstances to mitigate my booking and charges for nights after i had checked out. A some what heartless attitude in the circumstances when I was somewhat distressed. Reception did say the Manager would email the next day - but a week later no correspondence. This sums up the service at Holiday Inn Paris ST Germain.
