I booked this hotel based on the great reviews and learning that it was a quirky interesting boutique hotel designed by an artist. It definitely didn't fall short of my expectations except that the room I booked was a little small for comfort but Matthew at the reception was very kind and gave us an upgrade which was facing the street...

I'm so glad I stayed here. I booked through a third party app and picked Hotel Exquis because it was cheapest. The check-in was efficient and courteous, the room had very unique and sleek charm unlike any other.

The hotel was perfect, nothing to add ! Great location 15 mins walk from Gare de Lyon train station. Good restaurants around. Very nice staff. Reasonable price. Clean and fun ambiance. Liked the deco theme. Will try other hotel of the chain.

As a first time visitor to Paris I heavily relied on the reviews of others. I am happy to report that the reviews did not lead me astray. Small rooms but well designed with lots of character, helpful staff, close to the Metro, and vibrant neighborhood. Highly recommend!

We had three rooms, rather smallish (well it is Paris, isn't it?) but clean and having different colours in each room. The tiled shower was beautiful with its starlight. The breakfast buffet was ample and we did not lack anything. Wifi worked fine.

20'min walk from Notre Dame and well connected to public transit. A lot of restaurants and cafes around: some of them are touristic but also where locals eat (we all know those are the best). Vivid night life, a lot of young people hanging around the bars during weekend. A boulangerie next to the hotel as well as a supermarket....

Dear Nilly Vanilly, The Bastille is pride of its history. Cries of revolutionaries and decapitated heads running aground on the red paving stones. We are pleased to read that your immersion was total. You have dripped in a typical Paris. You liked to discover its little streets. You appreciated us. For that, a big thank you! And see you very...

We choosed this hotel for an holdaytrip to paris based on very good reviews and a good price, too. Our arrival was 2 houres earlier than planed, which wasn't a problem for the hotels stuff. The room was clean and it has a very nice design concept. The hotel is in a good location with lots of restaurants and it's...

Stayed in one of the cheaper rooms. Shower is nice, nice tv, bed and lightings on the wall (romantic showers!). Just a minor complain on the ventilation. Windows are locked for this room so ask for a room with usable windows if necessary. Had to open the door to fan and ventilate manually after steamy showers. Other than that, room...

I stayed 5 nights with my daughter on her Spring break in mid April. Perhaps it was the gloomy weather that affected my view of the neighbourhood, but I wouldn't stay here again. It didn't live up to the promotional material on the website. Yes, it is fairly close to a metro and there are bars, a bakery and a...

Stayed for 2 nights for my boyfriends birthday and enjoyed every second. Staff at reception are wonderfully friendly and helpful. We left our bags and checked in later in the evening as check in hadn't started when we arrived, and it couldn't have been a quicker or easier process. Room was small, as is common in hotels in Paris, but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With this new hotel opened in September 2015, artist Julie Gauthron carries you into the world of surrealism and art, where the mysterious is omnipresent. The 42 rooms have been decorated in a retro style, with bargained furniture that tells a story of its own. A unique piece of collective and original art is displayed in each room. These artworks are based upon the “exquisite corpse” concept; several artists have contributed to their creation by bringing in their own unique style. The result tells a fantastic story to be discovered in the hotel’s common areas as well. Located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, a few minutes from Bastille and in a popular district among artists and antique dealers, Hotel Exquis welcomes guests in an artistic and colorful location that makes it the ideal place to stay during your leisure and business trips. ... more   less
