The location is unbeatable- close to the metro and plenty of cafes and bistros. On the second night the flush of the toilet did not work, so when I advised reception, she was very curt and abrupt and said I had to wait 30 minutes before anyone could come solve my problems. I asked for an alternate room, but not a possibility. Please keep in mind this was already almost 9.30pm at night and I was ready to unwind after a very long day of walking in the Paris heat. A kind staff member showed up 30 minutes later and did a quick fix.
The kitchenette offers basic kitchen utensils, but bring your own coffee/tea. Additionally, I had to rewash some of the mugs and plates as they were a bit dirty and were chipped.
The biggest downside for me: There is NO housekeeping offered unless you want to fork out an exorbitant daily fee. If Citadines wants to use the name "hotel", then they really should be offering housekeeping and especially, in times of COVID, the least they could do was take out the garbage. I would recommend guests bring their own sanitizing solutions.
Management are clearly taking COVID precautions very seriously - single use pens to fill in the check in form, screens at reception, obligatory mask wearing in public areas, used key cards quarantined on check out and hand sanitiser freely available - so it felt like a safe place to stay. The reception staff were friendly and helpful (from a safe distance!)
I’d recommend for anyone wanting a centrally located apartment for a short stay in Paris. Easy walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and river and right next to La Motte Picquet Grenelle metro station with 3 metro lines. Monoprix supermarket directly opposite and plenty of places to eat and drink nearby (or a few stops on line 10 to the Latin Quarter for dinner.)
The staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. Now for the possible improvements. The breakfast is over priced especially because its a very small selection. Unless Breakfast is included don't pay for it. The rooms are very clean but can be a little modern. Just beig picky here they can have a few more TV channels in English. But overall a good hotel with well placed in terms of location and also access to food options. Good view of the eifel tower if you chose the right room that is.
My friends and I booked 2 rooms from this Aparthotel for 3 nights. Both rooms were clean and spacious, with great view of the Eiffel Tower too (around half). Do take note that you have to select the right room type when booking tho, some room types do not face the Eiffel Tower. The room has cooking utensils, water heater works great, even the tap has hot water (and I really mean hot water). The only tiny drawback about this hotel is the lack of slippers.
Thermostat works well for my room, with options to cooling and heating the room. The rooms can get pretty dry during the night. Some rooms came with balcony (mine did), but it's pretty dirty outside so do take note. There is free coffee/hot coco at the hotel lobby, along with 2 vending machines selling snacks and some salad.
Location is great. Metro is just across the street. McDonald's is right beside the main lobby, with Monoprix and Franprix across the road too. Monoprix has a bakery and a food section selling sushi and microwavable food on the first floor, and a supermarket on the second floor.
Overall very pleasant stay indeed.
Our room had the Eiffel tower view on the 6th floor, you can see the lights at night. So beautiful. Even though it was in front of the metro line, we weren't too bothered about the noise as some reviews mentioned.
On sunday morning there was a local market, we spent some time there buying artisan croissants..very delicious.
Also there is McDonald's right besode the hotel, and Monprix supermarket across the street, very convenient for families. We also had breakfast at a local cafe across the road, I forgot the name but I recommend the green cafe as it was cheaper than the other ones, and the breakfast set was good, omelets, croissants, baguette, jam, OJ and coffee/tea for €11.
Will definitely stay again if I visit Paris 🙂
The staff was great and friendly. The view of the tower was also spectacular. But….
Once you look down, the metro station is right there. It’s like a scene out of Rocky 1. The train goes by all night, so if you don’t have enough drinks to knock you out, it will keep you up all night.
The mattress was so broken down, it was only half the depth that it should be, not to mention the spring in my back all night long. The mold in the bathroom was disgusting. There is no ventilation or fans to keep it from growing.
Bed never gets made or new towels (towels were like a 1 ply toilet paper). No coffee maker in the room, have to bring your cups from the room down to the lobby to get your coffee.
We were scared to try the breakfast, so skipped it for our entire stay. Laundry is do your own.
Far from the 4.5 rating. Definitely a 2 to 2.5.
"The subway is nearby, so you can hear the rumble. However, after a while you get used to it. The room has a very useful kitchenette. "Read full review
"Make sure you bring toiletries, they don't provide. Also get a multi ride pass to the train, it is literally in front of the hotel."Read full review
"For those going with family, request for apartment with Eiffel Tower view. Beautiful view of Eiffel tower being lit at night. "Read full review
