The location was okay, close to a subway and as it's the theatre district you can find lots of places eat and drink. The rooms are up to an acceptable standard, although a little like most in Paris and sadly the WiFi wasn't fast enough to stream anything. Staff only speak basic English which is shocking in the hospitality industry...

Clean and tidy rooms and low cost for PARIS. You are not in your room much in Paris; to sleep this place is fine and quiet as well. Friendly staff and simple breakfast. Overall was fine and was a very good value

It was our one year anniversary. Small rooms - you get what you pay for. Out of the whole hotel, the shower room and lounge in the reception area are the only luxurious parts. The rooms, well, the pictures make it seem spacious but they are actually very small. Elevator - small/cramped and not really meant for heavy luggage. CONS:...

Stayed hear with a Rick Steves tour group. The hotel staff was very friendly and the location is good it is right by edger quinet station. This was our first trip to France and the hotel we stayed at the first 4 nights. So I didn't know what was standard. I don't know if it's fair to compare to American expectations. The hotel is pretty old and lacking true elegance. But it met all our needs and was well located. We were there (coincidentally) during the...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.

“Most rooms seemed to have elevator access, but not room 10, which we needed for its three beds. Stairs were tolerable.”
RAH_Sr, 5 Apr 2016 | Read review
“I think you need to ask for a larger room, away from the street noise. But I am sure it will cost more.”

“If you get to your room and realise it is right next to the elevator possibly go back to reception and get another room. I talked to the people in this kind of room and they were saying it was not so great :( I think there are 5 floors of rooms and just 1 room on each floor is directly next top the elevator.”

“Get a room that faces the street as this will allow you to see the local life.”
Keec, 2 Aug 2014 | Read review
“Higher floors have slightly less street noise. The little lift is rather noisy opening and closing. I had two rooms on the street side and I sleep lightly but as the windows are double glazed noise wasn't a problem at all.”
