The stay was great. The receptionist is friendly and approachable. Room is very comfortable including the amenities. Breakfast buffet is terrific. However, there was no water supply in the room after the first day of stay.

Hotel Excelsior offers a great location with easy access to the Metro and Roissy bus system. Many restaurants and shopping nearby. Staff is very kind and patient with non French speaking patrons. Room was very clean and comfortable. Beds and linens were comfortable. Tiny elevator serving 5 stories. Walls a bit thin. Overall, I highly recommend

The room is small with very little space to move around. BUt this hotel is walking distance to many of the most famous things in Paris. THe maid cleaned my room early - while I was having breakfast. THe front desk clerks were very good in English. IT is not too expensive by Paris prices.

Great staff - warmly wellcomed by a senior gentleman, my friend stayed with the same hotel last year was also impressed by his very friendly and sincere manner; when we leave Paris, another helpful staff gave us advice on taxi service and helped us to order. The room was also clean & tidy. Need not mention the very great location...

The room is so small and old, you can hardly open up a 30inch luggage on the floor. The bathroom is so small with old-style shower curtain that all the water flows to the WC area. The mattress is so worn out that caused back-ache, i check out the next day immediately for another hotel.

Had to be near the gare de nord and found this hotel It's what you'd expect from a good standard 3 star Parisian hotel Tiny room , slight rumble of the metro and an elevator the size of a small wardrobe However what differentiates this hotel is the friendly staff and location . A minute from Opera and surrounded by...

Very good location and friendly people. Room is a little too small, suggest you pick a triple room for bigger space. Breakfast is really worthy so you do not need to get early in the morning looking for a place to eat.

Beautiful room, and hotel--just a little too small in size for the price. But hotel staff were great and very cordial and hospitable. In fact they helped me mail out my stamped postcards.. Top floors with great views of Les Galleries Lafayettes and Opera!

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
