Stayed at the Mercure for three nights. Very impressed with welcome by the desk staff who were helpful and answered all our questions politely and efficiently. Our room (839) was modern and spotlessly clean, with a fantastic view over the city to the Eiffel Tower and Arch de Triomphe. Breakfast was typical Continental fare and perfectly adequate to start the...

This hotel is well located not too far from the city centre. We mostly used the Metro, which is very efficient - much smaller coverage than London so everywhere is in easy reach. It is also possible to walk into the city centre, which we did a couple of times. The hotel itself is very comfortable. We had a lovely...

Location We really enjoyed the location of this hotel. There are many restraunts nearby which serve great inexpensive food (although worth going away from the main strip!). It is very near a tube station which meant we were able to explore Paris easily and quickly. Room The room was clean, recetnly refurbished, the bed was large and very comforatble. Overall...

My partner and I have just stayed at this hotel for a birthday celebration for four nights. From booking in to leaving, the staff were friendly and helpful and our Privilege Room was superb with it's view of the Eiffel Tower, and our chambermaid Therese did a great job every day. Me and my boyfriend stayed here in December for the Christmas markets. The hotel was in a brilliant location next to the metro which was only a few stops from Champs-Élysées which is where I wanted to spend most of my time checking out the markets. We spent two nights in this hotel - we chose this location because it was located in north Paris and we wanted to drive from London. If using the Metro, get off at Clichy, hotel is a short walk up Rue Caulaincourt. Friendly, efficient staff at front desk. Our room, on top ((9th) floor had a great view towards the Eiffel tower, although, being January, the Tower was shrouded in fog a fair bit of the time! The room was comfortable, not large but spacious enough....

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
