We arrived late at night and were pleasantly surprised by the compact yet spacious room and ensuite. The next morning when I went out onto the balcony I was astounded by my view of the Arc de Triomph, it was a 'WOW' moment!

This area is characterized by its namesake avenue which extends northwest from the Louvre to the modern business district, punctuated by the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Grand embassies stand among impressive offices and presidential palaces; architecture from 19th century Universal Exhibitions, homes, art galleries, and 19th century streets designed by Baron Haussmann flank haute-couture boutiques. a) From home, go to the multi-lingual website lebusdirect and, with a credit card, purchase for 30 Euros, a round trip ticket on Ligne# 2. It's the best way to and from CDG. The 1st stop is Palais des Congres/Porte Maillot, then, it goes to Etoile/Place Charles de Gaulle. The bus drops you off on Ave Carnot, then it's a very short walk to the hotel. The driver will scan your ticket; no monies are exchanged and the trip lasts about 1.5 hrs, depending on the morning's bumper to bumper traffic b) The metro from the hotel is about 200 meters or so; it's "Etoile". It's a big hub with many lines and RER service. Purchase tickets at ATM-style distributors. The tickets are also valid for buses. See multi-lingual website ratp for more information on their great metro service. Bonne chance!
