We so enjoyed our stay at Saint Paul Rive Gauche. I feel the hotel staff always showed genuine interest in our Paris vacation being as fun and enjoyable as possible (with as less stress as possible). I saw this hospitality not only with us and our friends but with other hotel guests. The location is excellent. Maps, for all our... More

We planned a trip via trip advisor and their recommendation. Was very glad that they had given this hotel the "certificate of excellence". They deserve it. We had planned to stay in Paris 4 nights. We were traveling with friends. When we first arrived my first impression was wow, nice hotel. not the modern style, but more classical. The first... More

We only had one day in Paris by ourselves before the second half of our tour of Western Europe. This was unfortunate because Hotel Saint Paul was one of the highlights of our Parisian experience! The staff was friendly and helpful right from the beginning. We showed up early and were given directions to a great restaurant near Luxembourg Gardens... More

This has been the perfect place for our five nights in Paris. The room (superior) is very well thought out, dead quiet, very attractive, first decent pillow in a month in France, modern bathroom, great bed, lovely service and very very helpful with advice and suggestions. Street is full of good restaurants and shops. Would return again and again.

Such a pleasant change to so many parisian hotels. Intimate, friendly, and with excellent staff. Comfortable uncramped room (for Paris) in an excellent quiet (virtually traffic free) but central location nr Boulevard St Michel/Odeon (we walked from it to all our planned attractions) lovely restaurants and bars in the vicinity. We wholeheartedly recommend!

I first found this gem a dozen or so years back in a New York Times review. I've been in love with it ever since, and just returned from my fifth visit. In my line of work I see a lot of hotels so I'll touch on the salient points that set this property apart from most. The property now... More

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your loyalty to our hotel. In the past 12 years, you've probably seen many changes and improvments, the last but not the least being the recent renovations and our 4th star . :-) You mentioned our pocket wifi called "Mify" which costs 6 EUR/day . I know it may sound corny, but this hotel truly borders on "magical". From the genuinely warm, kind, caring & helpful staff (they helped me iron out my itinerary every day & figure out what bus or metro line(s) I needed to take); to the really nice breakfast each morning down in the 'cellar' (croissants, baguette, hard-boiled eggs, baked goods,... Nice hotel, great location near the RER (easy to/from the airport) and the metro. Walkable to great sites around Paris. Room is small but has everything you'd need. Don't forget to take advantage of the free phone in the room for walking around the city!

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche belongs to a Franco-British family, hoteliers for 4 generations, who have made the hotel a marriage of French elegance and English comfort. Situated on the line of Paris' former outer wall under Philippe Auguste, this 17th century building was once the home of Franciscan monks. The 31 bedrooms are colourful and range in style from the modern - vibrant flowered fabrics - to the traditional - exposed beams and elegant opaque curtains. There are beamed ceilings, faux ostrich bed-heads, clever corner armoires, even two baldaquin beds beneath the high ceilings of the lower floors. Entirely renovated in 2015, this boutique-hotel is close to everything, in the heart of the action, but in a quiet little street. The Luxembourg gardens vicinity and the so many walking distance sites like the Sorbonne, Notre-Dame cathedral, the Pantheon, Cluny museum and the Louvre, make the Hotel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche a convenient pied-à-terre for enjoying the city. ... more   less
