My partner and I stayed here last week and found everything to be very good. We came very early in the morning and the staff helped us stow away our luggage and showed us where to go and we were on our way. We came back around 1 or 2 and the room was comfortable, not small at all by...

Reasonable hotel that is clean and relatively good value. We had a decent sized room on the top (sixth) floor. The room was big enough for a family of three. The hotel knew that we were traveling with a baby, so gave us a cot (and there was enough room for a cot). The bed was comfortable enough - it...

The Aviatic Hotel St. Germain is an excellent choice for a stay in Paris. The hotel and rooms are exceptionally clean and well maintained. This is a boutique hotel which adds to the charm of the residence. The staff, morning, afternoon-evening and weekends are to be commended for their positive and helpful attitude. The location is superb.... near Metro stops,...

This hotel is re-done with a lot of thought and care, and the staff is helpful, but the location right over a subway line means a rumbling noise until they stop at 1 or 2 am, and then starting again at 6am. I was on the third floor, and had a rough time. Unless you're a skilled sleeper, I think...

We stayed at the Aviatic St. Germain for four nights and it was delightful. The decor was charming...very Marie Antoinette. The room was very clean and attractive. We were on the courtyard so it was very quiet at night. The room was small but but we preferred the quiet of the courtyard. Our friends had a larger room on the...

I stayed here just last week and it was my first visit to Paris. First of all, note that this hotel is located in the Montparnasse area (14e) despite being marketed as in the St. Germain area (6e). The address is technically 6th district but it is really part of the Montparnasse district, which is touristy and not the charming...

Very nice hotel, all the staff were very nice, welcoming and helpful. The building is lovely and our room was very nice and extremely clean and also a little quirky! It was quite an odd shape but for us that added to the appeal, it was not a square box like so many other hotels I have stayed in. The...

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel with my son. Staff were helpful and the room was lovely (small like most rooms in Paris but very well appointed and nicely decorated). A lovely touch was a complimentary bottle of wine in the room upon our arrival. Free wifi very much appreciated. Location good, a couple of blocks from...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated between Saint Germain des Pres and Montparnasse, the Hotel LOUISON is a chic hotel in the centre of Paris. With nineteenth century furniture, cherry and chestnut tones on the walls, marble floors and a courtyard garden, the Aviatic captures the spirit of the Left Bank in every detail. The hotel was constructed in 1856 to welcome the painters, sculptors and writers who would go on to put the Latin quarter at the very heart of European culture. This cultural heritage is present even in the bedrooms. Tastefully decorated, they generate a feeling of calm and a sensual ambiance. The charming, multilingual staff are always available to provide you with help and advice. They will be happy to offer local insight on art galleries, museums and the area's famous pavement cafes. ... more   less
