A charming 3-star hotel in the heart of Saint Germain des Pres, family owned since 1962. We offer a choice of standard rooms (small and economical), some superior rooms and a few family rooms. All our bedrooms feature private facilities; they vary in size and comfort according to their rates; all the rooms are very personalized (with cable-TV, telephone, individual safe). The entire hotel is air-conditioned except our standard rooms. We look forward to welcoming you to our hotel!

Detailed Reviews
We had a lovely stay at Hotel du Danube for two nights. We found the staff to be very helpful and kind. We were upgraded to a family room so we had more space than I anticipated because we paid for the basic room which I would guess is quite tiny. Our room had a nice size bathroom with plenty of hot water, privacy and good counter space. The bed was comfortable, new linens, and things were clean. The location is amazing, my boyfriend was able to take his morning run around the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens, and we easily walked to great restaurants and shops. I gave 4 stars for two main reasons. Breakfast was quite minimal (breakfast room was very cute)… even the paid choices didn’t have much on the menu. Secondly the building is quite old… creaky steps and floors, thin walls, chipped tile, stained bathtub, some peeled wallpaper and old lamps. It was obvious it had been a while since there has been a renovation. Despite this, we had a lovely time. The property was clean and warm and cozy… would certainly recommend this as a medium budget property as it was less expensive than many of its neighbors and a good value. Great for what we needed which was a place to stay before our road trip began to the rest of Europe. Thank you for a lovely visit!

My daughters and I stayed at the Hotel du Danube Saint Germain for one week while we were in Paris to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit at the Louvre. Our room was a two bedroom suite with down comforters and fluffy pillows. It was cozy and very charmingly decorated. We had a wonderful sleeping experience because our suite was very quiet and was decorated with Toile de Jouy draperies that kept the rooms well-darkened even when we napped during the day. (We were jet-lagged the first two days.). The management was very warm, friendly and professional. My daughters and I loved our stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the French culture while staying in Paris. We had a wonderful time!

The location is perfect!!! In the middle of the St Germain area surrounded with cafes, boutiques, and easy access to taxis, metro . I always ask for a Prestige room, since I like the set up and bathroom. The room faces Rue Jacob but the double pane windows and thick curtains keep the room quiet. Breakfast is in a cute dining room by the courtyard and is very nice. The bed, pillows and the covers were super soft and comfy . Love it!!! Nice size closet and a safe to keep valuables. The bathroom is large and super comfortable. There is a water closet, shower with glass doors, jacuzzi tub and a large sink with a long cabinet to keep all toiletries comfortably. Fully loaded with Hair dryer, Kleenex, and a towel rack that is heated so towels are always dry and warm . NICE!!! The staff is very helpful. Very accommodating with all your needs from an umbrella,, an iron for your clothes, to a taxi for the airport.

After having stayed at another *** Hotel in the 6th arroindisement on visits to Paris, we decided to try the Hotel Du Danube. The rooms are large (for the area) and well-maintained by the owners. My wife and I were required to have a PCR test before returning to Japan, and the staff was helpful in arranging it in a timely manner so that we could continue with our visits to the museums and commercial art galleries nearby. The staff is particularly professional with great humor and quick response to requests to repair a balky TV set when we arrived.
Within walking distance, there are restaurants to fit any budget in an expensive neighborhood, an advantage of the location.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. Our room was upgraded, complimentary. All of the staff were very attentive and helpful, from reception (help with directing you to where you want to go) to chambermaids, to breakfast staff. The room was very comfortable and extremely clean with little added touches like bottles of cold water in the fridge upon arrival in the room. One very minor thing, could do with a few more little pots of milk in the room. Two tiny pots of milk isn’t really enough for two people. It has a lovely central courtyard, where you have your breakfast in the morning. Perfect. Location is superb. Could get around easily on foot to all major attractions, The Louvre, Jardin de Tuileries, Notre Dame, Pantheon, Musee de Orsay and of course the beautiful River Seine. The Eiffel Tower is a slightly longer walk, but still reachable on foot. I’m sure there are lots more things we didn’t see, we just ran out of time! Plenty of lovely little side streets with endless cafes, bistros, restaurants and bars.
We will definitely be returning soon.

The Danube Hotel is a rare find in Paris - a hotel still privately owned with charm and warmth that has not been “renovated” in the modern and sleek look that characterizes so many of the hotels in the city. My husband and I discovered the Danube on an early visit to Paris in the late 1980s as a young married couple. Since then we have returned to Paris many times staying in various hotels and neighborhoods and more recently renting apartments. On our recent trip we needed a hotel for three nights due to a change in our travel plans. On a nostalgic whim we decided to return to the Danube and happy that we did. On arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted by the receptionist who made us feel welcome - something that is not always assured in any hotel.
I had reserved a “Prestige” room which faced the street but we never heard any noise. The room was large (again unusual in many Parisian hotels) but the outstanding feature was the huge bathroom with a separate shower. As I commented many times there are 5 star hotels in Paris that cannot match the bathroom we had in our room
But as wonderful as the room was it is the staff that made our stay so memorable. Any encounter was met with a greeting and a smile. But special thanks and kudos must go to Mikayel who always greeted us as if we were old friends.
The Danube is a gem in a city full of hotels vying for tourist dollars. Much has changed in Paris in the years since we first started visiting and stayed at the Danube. Sometimes returning to a place that holds special memories fails to live up to those memories. This did not happen at the Danube. Instead we now have new and wonderful memories assuring our return on our next trip to the City of Light.

We had a great 5 day, 4 night stay in one of their comfortable Superior rooms. The hotel & room were very quiet. I don't know if it was because it was August when many Parisians are on vacation or if the location of the hotel create that insulated quiet vibe. Breakfast that was offered was a simple but perfect petit dejeuner of coffee (or tea) plus croissants & other pastries. All of the employees of the hotel were helpful & courteous with any recommendations whenever we needed support. We would absolutely stay at the Hotel du Danube again.

We had booked a deluxe twin room for 4 nights in this very pleasant 3-star city hotel. Our room number 10 on the 3rd floor was around 20m2 (very spacious by Parisian standards) and also had a very large and modern bathroom with a bathtub and shower. L’Occitane products are provided in the bathroom and there was also a small set of L’Occitane products as a gift in the room. There were also two small Evian water bottles free of charge every day. The room was also very quiet. The small, narrow, jolting elevator, the strange room numbering and the slightly uneven floor in the room seemed a bit quirky. But that wasn’t a problem for us at all. The hotel is a 3* hotel, so of course you have different expectations than you would for a 5* hotel. We found the staff to be very friendly throughout. We only had breakfast once in the hotel. For 14 euros you get a bread basket with two small croissants, two rolls and other pastries as well as butter, honey and jam and a glass of orange juice. Warm drinks, such as cappuccino, can be ordered as often as you like. The hotel in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district is very well located. The Louvre is just a stone's throw away and the Eiffel Tower can be reached on foot in about 40 minutes. Many excellent restaurants are practically around the corner (Joel Robuchon, Boutary, etc.) and we certainly filled up in the area in the evenings. We will be happy to consider the hotel again on a future stay in Paris.

For the last 10 years I've been staying at the Hotel de Danube and this trip was the best ever. Before we even checked in Marco, the manager, was of great help in tracking down my wife's missing luggage. His support made a challenging job much easier in dealing with Air France. That proved to be a very positive sign for the balance of our 10 day stay.
The hotel has been renovated and our stay couldn't have been better in all respects. Cleanliness, responsiveness and general support for any issue a traveler might have. The balance of the staff was also most helpful at any hour of the day.
I love the left bank and I love the location of this hotel-sandwiched between Boulevard St. Germain and the Seine you're an easy hop to anyplace you want to travel in Paris. As a person that's traveled extensively, I can fully endorse Hotel de Danube as a facility that does not disappoint and offers great value for your money.

We booked a Double room Prestige cote rue (near street). The result was a large (especially for Paris) room with an enormous bathroom including a real stall shower. Absolutely no complaints about this hotel - the people were lovely and the room was excellent. The location is wonderful - relative to the Louvre: picture being at the pyramid, walking south across the Seine, then about 2 blocks. Home. Near multiple metro and bus lines and walkable to many major sites. Absolutely would stay there again.

That’s true, and just beside the hotel you‘ll find a café-bar, where we had breakfast and lunch for very reasonable prices in a very french atmosphere.
I would email to ask specific questions. They're great at answering and this is the best way to be sure you get what you're looking for.
