We stayed here for 4 nights after a Vantage Grand French River Cruise. The hotel location is great a few blocks from Notre Dame, and the Left and Right Banks. Close to Metro stations on both banks. There are a lot of restaurants within Walking distance, although the better food is off the Island, which apparently Tourist Central. The Street...

Spent our last night of a month long European Sojourn in Paris. Arranged to stay one night at the Hotel des Deux Iles on the Iles Saint Louis. We have always wanted to stay on the "Island" and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to do so. The location of the hotel is a "10"--literally right in the...

Dear John M, We thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the size of your room. It is true that our hotel is located on the historical Ile St Louis, in a 17th century building, thus giving the impression of smaller rooms. Our rooms have however been organized to make our guests’...

To stay on Ile Saint-Louis feels like a privilege in itself. This is a very nice little hotel, and of course, the rooms aren't exactly spacious, either. My single room in particular. A fun detail: it was physically impossible to sit down on the toilet, since there was not enough room for my knees! But in a "cheap" (cheap??) hotel...

This is a boutique hotel, it's on the little island behind Notre Dame and not so crowded in this area. All the essential, nothin fancy but does the job and breakfast too. The front desk is helpful and the restaurants are all walking distance, also the best gelato down the street.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
