The decor is fabulous & the ambience terrific but despite the numerous recommendations note that the hotel has been stripped right back & there are few comforts. The towels are threadbare & soft as sandpaper. Some decent soap for the bathroom would be a treat. Wifi & aircon are available but at additional cost. The beds are EXTREMELY hard, the...

The location of the hotel was excellent and the room was very nice, despite the intimate size. The staff were very helpful, and the proximity to the Metro, to cafes, to attractions and to shopping, was terrific.

Keep in mind in that this is a tourist-class hotel in the heart of Paris, so rooms are small, and the private baths are tiny. Otherwise it’s a delight. And quiet. The windows are new and quality double-pane, effectively shutting out much of the street noise from the cafes below. Each room has an AC unit that further masks noise....

Friendly staff. Rooms are very charming. The bathroom was clean. Would have been nice to have some shower gel in there though. perfect location, we will most probably stay here again in the future.

Found this hotel at the last minute online, and stayed for three nights after Christmas. My room was very cool, and the location of the hotel could not be better! The place certainly seemed clean enough, and staff was friendly enough. I had a room facing Rue de Rivoli, but any traffic noise did not bother me - I slept...

The hotel is nicely located in the Marais close to the Hotel de Ville. The family room in the upper floor is just big enough to host a familiy with two children (one of which is a 4 month old baby). The prices aren't exactly cheap, but acceptable, given we are in central Paris. The interior design is interesting and...

Situated at Rue de Rivoli in Paris - you can't find a more convenient place to stay. Lot's of cafes and shopping everywhere and a short distance to several major sights of Paris. Because of the new windows in this building, the rooms are well protected from the street noise (and it's a busy street) - this was really a...

This was a wonderful old-world Paris Hotel steeped with history and tradition. Conveniently located on the famous Rue de Rivoli, the hotel is within the Marais area of Paris which is a very hip, old and now gay area of Paris. It felt very safe and had a great vibe. The hotel itself is well serviced by a lift and...

This hotel is near the Hotel de Ville so is very central. It has unusual and quite singular decor but is clean enough though the wardrobe in our room was shabby and smelly so wasn't used. The shower didn't work well , some lights didn't work and the bathroom was quite small but overall was adequate. The dining room had...

We selected this hotel to spend a short break in because of its position, on the edge of the Marais, and its value. We found the location excellent as we could walk or 'metro' to anywhere we needed. The nearest metro to the hotel is Hotel de Ville. Some previous reviewers complained of the noise, but what do you expect...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
