Found this place thanks to Frommers and cannot wait to bring my husband back. Two friends and I traveled to Paris for the first time over a long weekend. Sophie was so helpful and genuine. Had a two bedroom apartment and a studio. Would rent the entire building someday if able. Love Montemarte. In love with Paris.

L'ermitage is a traditional French hotel minutes from Sacré-Cœur. It is a short distance from the more touristy areas of Montematre and consequently not as hectic. The hotel is run by the amazing Madame Sophie who will bring you your breakfast of croissants, baguettes and coffee each morning. The rooms and bathrooms are small as to be expected in Paris,...

What a wonderful experience. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely time. The room was cozy with great beds, and our petit dejeuner was lovely on the patio. You are certainly treated like family here. The price is very reasonable for Paris and the metro is quite close. We loved our visit and would highly recommend...

This was my second stay in this lovely hotel. This time we had a room on the ground floor which had a little patio you could go out to. Had our breakfast in the sunshine on Sunday morning and enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening. It is a lovely peaceful place to stay. You would never know you...

A small, nice charming hotel. Very simple and very friendly, close to Sacre-Coeur. Do not go here if you love 4 stars plus. But go here, if you want to feel at home. A simple breakfast is served in the room, since there is no breakfast room. The owner Mme Sophie carries it upstairs with elegance. There is also an...

More of a B&B than a hotel. Stayed here for several nights in late September and early October.Sophie was wonderful to communicate with prior to our arrival. We were interested in one of the rooms with access to the patio/terrace and were delighted with the room. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning on the patio and every night we enjoyed...

Stayed here for 4 nights in early October. Small place....reasonably priced...great Montmartre area. The room was very clean and had a nice view over the northern part of Paris. Very French. Fresh Croissant and baguette from a nearby bakery for breakfast. Sophie was very helpful in finding close by restaurants that were good to eat at. The best was the...

We stayed for a week in the studio apartment in the building next to the main hotel. It is fairly spacious and has a view out over a garden area. There is a large main room with two double beds, a well-equipped kitchen area, bathroom (with shower) and a small toilet. Everything was clean and well maintained. The location is...

L'Ermitage is a delightful place, full of character (and characters!). Maggie met us at the door, explained some of the house rules, and shows us to our room. It was all flowers! The wallpaper, curtains and bedding all had the same flowery print- very French, very old school. The beds were super comfortable, and the bathtub was the funniest little...

Stayed here for two nights. Heaps of character. Very friendly, family service. Breakfast is the usual croissant and coffee, enough to get you out and about. The option of breakfast on the terrace was nice in the morning sun. A 2min walk to the Sacre-Coeur, with some okay restuarants around. Highly recomend to anyone.

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
