This is my second time at George V. The first time was AMAZING (pre-pandemic, well Jan 2020). The second time, a longer stay, it felt decidedly lacklustre and poor value. Things were missing from the room (no hairdryer, no tea/kettle facilities, milk not topped up) - basic things, some of which I only knew should be there from before. The price of what should be simple things is just outrageous and completely unjustified - Euro 110 for a croque monsieur and a coke? Euro 35 charge to deliver room service? That's not premium it's just greedy. And the afore-mentioned croque monsieur was awful (brittle, overcooked, no filling). There were a couple of good things - I had dinner at Le Cinq which, although pricey, was justified. It was DIVINE and the service was impeccable, warm and lovely. I don't mind paying for that. Equally, the concierge did a fantastic job finding something for me. But I'm sad that this was my favourite hotel in Paris, and it feels like they have upped the prices and reduced the value and attention to detail. Next time I'll try the Ritz or Le Meurice.

After looking at about a million reviews for the perfect hotel in Paris for our anniversary, we decide to go with our travel agent’s suggestion, the George V. I was worried that the hotel wouldn’t live up to its price or our expectations, but it was an amazing stay. We stayed in what they called ‘the best’ premiere level room, and it was lovely. It was on the top level and had an amazing balcony with beautiful views of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower. Everyone there was so nice and accommodating. Every request was quickly answered. Room service rarely took more than 20 minutes, and it was nice to come back after a long day of sightseeing to a great meal without having to go back out again. We both had massage appointments at the Spa, which was great after so much walking around the city. We were very happy with our choice to stay at George V, and would love to return again!

Check in experience was terrible. I wouldn’t visit this hotel again. There are a lot of nice hotels in Paris. This isn’t one of them. Waited over 3 hours for our room to be ready when I had already communicated our travel plans with the concierge long before we arrived.

We had a wonderful five-night stay at the George V over the holidays. We were a family of four traveling with our kids (9 and 13) on their first trip to Paris. Throughout the visit the hotel treated us exceptionally well. The level of service was impeccable. When we arrived, the check-in process was seamless and we were told that our children’s room (adjoining to ours) had been upgraded, which was a nice surprise. (The kids waited 10 minutes for their room but the hotel sent us a bottle of champagne to apologize - unnecessary but lovely.) The rooms themselves were beautiful - a deluxe king connecting to a twin premier room. Both rooms had large balconies facing the street. It was too cold to sit outside but we enjoyed the views and the rooms were very quiet. The rooms are decorated in classical elegant French style. Not modern - so if you prefer modern, this is not the hotel for you. The bathrooms did seem a bit dated style-wise, although they were still well appointed and lovely. The hotel left a number of surprises for us when we arrived. First, there was champagne and chocolate cake our room. The kids had a chocolate Eiffel Tower, macarons, and apple juice. There were also balloons and gifts for each of them - a stuffed animal for my daughter and a shirt for my son. My daughter had recently celebrated her 13th birthday and they tied 1 and 3 balloons to her bedposts which was adorable. Kid sized robes were in the bathroom for them. Just magnifique and a terrific welcome to Paris. They also went down right away to take a swim in the gorgeous pool and jacuzzi. (One suggestion - allow children to swim in the pool after 6 when accompanied by their parent. We tried to go back a few other days after sightseeing, one day ending early especially so they could swim again and they were turned away, which was sad for the kids.) Another highlight was breakfast every morning. The opulent buffet was included with our room and it was delicious in every way. We also were able to order a la carte any number of additional items (the kids’ favorite were of course the mini jars of Nutella)! The service at breakfast was welcoming - they always knew our names - and efficient. My husband and I also very much enjoyed our time having a drink at the beautiful wood paneled bar on our second night there. I also must praise the excellent concierge desk. They secured several dinner reservations for us in advance of our trip (including at Girafe, which is not an easy spot to get into)! My husband became very sick from food poisoning overnight on our second night there and the concierge was extremely helpful - they came up with a thermometer and even ran out to purchase him medicine, which was much needed. The concierge also helped us out on New Years Eve when the restaurant we booked had a fire - they advised us on next steps and navigated our Uber driver back to the hotel amidst many New Year’s Eve street closures. Although they were unable to arrange a way for us to have dinner together at the hotel for less than about 3000 Euros, this was understandable due to it being NYE and because all of the hotel’s restaurants were using prix fixe menus. We instead had room service together in our beautiful room, which was cozy and fun, even if not the glamorous night out we had planned. Room service and housekeeping were both excellent - prompt and polite. Room service even remembered that my husband had been sick when I called to order more bland food for him the next day. Finally a bit about the hotel itself. The location is busy and bustling - about a 6 minute walk from the Metro. The atmosphere of the 8th arrondissement is like Fifth Avenue in NY. The biggest designer shops, nice restaurants, lots of tourists. If you prefer quiet winding Parisian streets, this is not the place (my husband and I stayed at Pavillion de la Reine in the Marais last time and that is a much calmer more romantic atmosphere). But if you want to stay in an opulent, high style environment in the middle of everything with the best service, this fits the bill. The hotel was all lit up for Christmas which was beautiful although I must say I missed seeing what I understand are the typically amazing flower arrangements in the hotel the rest of the year. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful- lots of marble and gold. And the courtyard at the heart of the hotel is very pretty, but sadly it was too cold to enjoy it during our stay. All in all, I was very impressed with the hotel. My children I am sure will always remember the warm welcome they received there. My husband also felt very well taken care of when he was ill. Merci, George V pour un bon voyage!

Following a fantastic 10 night stay in December 2021 our family decided to make this a new annual tradition and recently enjoyed another 10 nights of pure indulgence from the entire FSGV team. We were thrilled to see many familiar faces who warmly welcomed us back to our "home" in Paris and extend special thanks to Alice D. and Arnaud B. for ensuring that we were always well looked after throughout our stay. In a city like Paris with so many amazing options, deciding where to stay can be a daunting task; however, once you've had the pleasure of experiencing the hospitality provided by the George V, there's little reason to look elsewhere. The high quality of service at the hotel is truly what sets it apart from the competition and the level of execution has not skipped a beat, even in the post-covid era. All interactions with staff are genuine and enthusiastic and they take great pride both in terms of working at the George V as well as treating all guests like VIPs. Don't be surprised if you are greeted by name even by employees you haven't even met yet! Attention is paid to even the smallest of details--on one particular day, room service had noticed I had brought up a few candies from Le Galerie to my room and then placed a large bowl of them on my coffee table to enjoy. We received multiple treats in addition to the large bottles of Evian and bowls of fruit replenished daily and it was always exciting to see what was waiting for us in our rooms after returning from a day of exploring the city. While the George V's rooms are more traditionally styled as compared to some of the newer hotels that have recently opened, our Premier King and Four Seasons Suite were incredibly luxurious, spacious and meticulously maintained. Four Seasons Hotels are known for having some of the best beds in the industry, and when combined with the fine Italian linens which are of even higher quality than those used in other Four Seasons properties, the comfort is second to none. Multiple bouquets of fresh flowers were placed in each room adding an extra element of luxury to the already beautiful accommodations. Large, individual bottles of Guerlain bath amenities are found in the bathrooms along with plenty of plush towels. If Paris didn't have so much to see and do you'd never want to leave the room! Speaking of activities, the George V concierge team might just be the stars of the show. Every request is handled with ease and Alice R. put together a complete itinerary for us prior to arrival which included bookings at several "hard to get" restaurants, as well arranging for transportation and other excursions. Most importantly, a member of the concierge team is always available to provide on the spot recommendations and assistance when things may not go according to plan. We experienced a few issues with our private tour guides which were completely outside the control of the hotel, nevertheless, the efforts taken by the concierge team to make things right went above and beyond expectation. When one guide failed to arrive at the scheduled time, Louis M. saved the day by immediately securing a wonderful driver to take us to Sacre Coeur which proved to be among the highlights of our trip. It was always a pleasure chatting with everyone on duty during our stay, with additional thanks owed to Gilles M. and Toni S. who were as lovely and personable during this year's stay as they were during our stay last year. We enjoyed breakfast each morning in Le Galerie which was always a treat including both an extensive buffet or À la carte options featuring delicious viennoiserie and the best chocolat chaud in Paris. Drinks in Le Bar were the perfect start to any evening with Nicolas M. and Lea always asking how our day was. Dinner at the Michelin starred Le George on our final night was excellent from start to finish. Julien R. who looked after us at breakfast last year is now a manager in the room service department and helped us pack up many of our goodies to bring home with us and happy to report everything survived the journey intact! Although a trip to Paris is special any time of year, we happen to love the atmosphere during the festive season. The George V's floral displays are swapped with equally impressive holiday decorations which are an attraction in their own right and by far the nicest you'll find in any hotel. There is a lively and welcoming energy present at the George V that simply isn't matched by any of the other Palace level properties. Needless to say, we enjoyed our most recent stay the George V immensely, in large part, due to the kind people that work there all of whom will go out of their way to make your time at the hotel the best possible experience. While prices continue to reach stratospheric heights (perhaps my only criticism), you will most certainly leave with only positive memories that last far longer than any temporary sting that may result when settling your bill and we cannot wait to return! Merci beaucoup!

We've stayed at multiple Four Seasons properties around the world and this one was somewhat lacking in the service department. The front desk staff was courteous, but not particularly friendly. Room service was a little slow a few times as well. The main issue that led us to knock down a Four Seasons from a five to a four-star is that on our last full day in Paris, we hired professional photographers to take formal honeymoon pictures for us. One person from the concierge questioned whether we were guests there, which was a little offensive. Then the evening manager approached us and advised that although we could take pictures in the lobby, we needed to be mindful of not capturing other guests in our photos. We found this to be an odd statement; why would want other people in our formal (when I say formal, I mean I was wearing a long evening gown and my husband was in a suit) honeymoon pictures? Other than that, our stay was pleasant. The rooms are very small for the price you're paying and the food is ridiculously overpriced, but it's the Four Seasons so you have to expect this. The location is great and close to a lot of shops and restaurants.

La Galerie staff were extremely helpful and explained everything in the menu de Noël. They really seemed to enjoy their work which enabled a magical experience. Different champagnes, teas, coffee, individual patisseries (of beyond Michelin standard) then a Gugelhopf with brioche inside and a contrasting orange jam sauce. Words cannot do justice to the culinary creativity and excellence. An experience to treasure.
