1. They require you to pay up front. 2. Wifi connection was slow and u need to get a new password every day as well as a different password for each device. 3. The room smelled like smoke and I think it was coming from inside the hotel. 4. Very loud outside until about 1:30 am. 5. I might be...

We really liked this place. It was simple but convenient. The room was small, but good enough for us. It's Paris! The bathroom was large. Free wifi, nice people and a great location. It's a wonderful neighbourhood to walk around in the evening and have a meal or a drink. OK, it is noisy outside, but not disturbing. You here...

This is a simple little budget hotel with a tiny lift, no real lobby and a small staff. Our room (#37?) had a bed, a cramped bathroom, a closet and that's about it. The highlight was the two giant windows that opened out onto Rue des Abbesses, the main drag that runs through Montmartre. I could have spent all day...

Fun area of the city! There were plenty of restaurants, bars and shops surrounding the hotel and we definitely didn't run out of things to keep us busy. The hotel staff was very nice and spoke English enough to help us plan some activities and point us in the right direction. The room was very clean and the hot water...

This small budget hotel is located walking distance from Abesses, Blanche or Pigalle Metro stations. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The free wifi offered was a welcome addition. It is an excellent base for exploring Paris with loads of great restaurants and cafes nearby (the hotel doesn't offer any itself). The Monmartre district of Paris is the...

After a long internet search we managed to book a room for a single night at remarkably modest cost for such a good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were no facilities for breakfast, but you have a choice of excellent street cafes all around, for something better than a mean croissant and coffee. Our room overlooked...

Everyone and everything about Hotel Audran was excellent. I received kind, excellent service: the room was very clean and daily cared for by a very nice woman, and the staff at the front desk were exceedingly helpful in getting me where I needed to go with directions and such. I highly recommend this affordable, cozy place. Billy Clem, DeKalb, IL

This hotel has an excellent location! Quiet street in Montmarte away from all the hustle and bustle of Rue Lepic, just a few blocks away. Abess metro station is a 5 minute walk down this pleasant street. The staff was friendly and helpful. We told them it was our honeymoon and they gave us the only room with a balcony....

Aftera a mix up with Laterooms.com we could only get a very small room in Hotel Audran after booking a double. As we arrived at 10pm we had to stay one night and then decided to check out and look for another hotel for the rest of our holiday. The corridors and entrance were more like a youth hostel ,...

Great location about 3 minutes walk up the hill from Abesses Metro. Lots of good pubs and restaurants locally. Nice wee shops. The staff were lovely. The room was clean and towels changed every day. However, during each night cigarette smoke wafted in to our room and it was terrible. Couldn't work out where it came from but suspect it...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
