Originally, we were scheduled for a 2-night stay at La Roseraie, drive to Tours, train back to Paris, overnight and fly home the next day.... but then the transpo strike occurred. Laurent & Sophie could not have been more concerned. From helping us develop an alternative plan to making numerous phone calls on our behalf, Laurent made sure that the... More

Laurent and Sophie are wonderful hosts. Laurent was a full of energy and always had a smile and a cheery comment. We stayed 5 nights and ate dinner 3 times in the restaurant. The food was excellent and portions were surprisingly substantial. The local wines were a good value and representative of the area. The room was quite spacious and... More

The owners, Sophie and Laurent were great. The evening meal is the dining room was such a treat- they even made me a special vegetarian dinner. The hotel itself is so charming - loved the pool and the fact that its walking distance to the chateau. We went with our teenage son and they gave us two adjoining rooms with... More

Cozy hotel conveniently situated next to the beautiful Chateau de Chenonceau . The city can be a base to travel to towns close by such as Amboise. We drove from Paris and made a stop at Chambord before arriving at Chenonceaux early afternoon. The room was not fully ready yet but Sabrina quickly made the arrangement to have it equipped.... We visited the hotel during the Fall. Although we did not get to visit the castle at night (which you can only do in Summer time) we had a great couple of days in a quiet and romantic atmosphere. People at the hotel (from the manager to the cleaning crew) were extremely nice. The room was on the second level... More

Was pleasantly surprised by the calibre of the dinner - traditional items were great but some creative dishes like gizzards on salad- not only edible but tender and tasty - nice outdoor dining area as well . Best food in town ,as we unfortunately found out when eating elsewhere. I live with a chef so hard to please. Hotel quaint... More

La Roseraie is a superior hotel in Chenonceaux, a village at the heart of the Loire chateau region within brisk walking distance of the lovely Chateau Chenonceau. The hotel is located on the main road through town, accessed through an almost hidden driveway at the S-curve at the center of the village. Sundries were available from a general store two... More

The personal service, accomodations and food that we received at this establishment were the absolute best we found in our entire trip to Belgium, France and Holland. I cannot say enough good things about the owners who were so delightful, the room which was very well appointed, and the food which was superb. My husband and I felt without a... More

I almost hate to write really good reviews for hotels that we will probably return to--we still have a few chateaux left to see--in the near future. Availability could become more of an issue--the hotel was fully booked during our four night stay. Laurant and Sophie are wonderful innkeepers and were extremely helpful regarding any request we had. The room... More
