This B&B is pleasantly situated next to an inlet of the Gulf of Morbihan, just east of Carnac and conveniently situated for viewing the megalithic sites or visiting the many islands. The house is modern, built in the traditional local style, and has a pleasant outside sitting area facing a large, tidal lake which was usually empty during our four-night...

We spend 5 nights there. + impeccably clean + nice view on the lake + quality bed - though you can't hear other guests when they are in their rooms, you can hear every noise from the stairs. - a camping is situated just in front and it's swimming pool is close, so it can be noisy during the day....

Madame Cadoret (Cecile) was more than accommodating and our room was impeccable. (It would have been nice to have a small fridge if we didn't want to drive into town to have dinner.) The setting is lovely and it's fun to see the lake (lac) fill up as tides change. Walking in this rural area is a joy....lots of birds...

Ty Er Velin is a place that combines the look and feel of old French country charm amidst woods and water with the comfort and cleanliness of modern amenities. It's about a 10mn drive from Carnac town center and a 5mn drive to the fields of monoliths ( Les Alignements). You do need a car to stay there for your...

Fabulous location between the river and the lake, immaculate, elegant rooms with impressive modern plumbing and a superb view. Madame Cadoret is a delightful host who serves a generous breakfast and speaks so clearly and expressively that even those with minimal French (like us) will understand her. Worth every penny.

A welcome retreat and an excellent base for exploring the area. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood, out of the fray, but with easy access to the area's attractions. The rooms are beautifully decorated, well-appointed, and extremely comfortable. The patio, overlooking the tidal lake with views over the estuary is relaxing and lovely. The proprietor, Cecile Cadoret, is a...

We stayed 3 nights at Ty er velin. Our room was spacious, well appointed, and had a beautiful view. Breakfasts were wonderful, with home made preserves, croissants, yogurt, and delicious French butter (with salt crystals) that tastes so good on a lovely baguette. Cecille, using her local knowledge, helped guide us in creating daily itineraries. The area was magical. We...

We stayed for a few nights at this beautiful B+B. The welcome from Ceclie was warm, despite us arriving a little early. Our room was spotless and the blackout blinds combined with comfy beds made for perfect sleeps. Breakfast was simple but delicious - bread, homemade jams and pastries. The views of the lake & river from the terrace are...

A little tough to find, but so worth it. So clean, peaceful, tasteful, gracious.... We stayed on a Friday night in March, and she had a full house, but it was so quiet. Close to the sites of Carnac. We are on a road trip and plan to go back on our way home.

We stayed with Cecile at Ty er velin in July 2011 and enjoyed our stay so much, and were made so welcome, that we look forward to returning when we get the opportunity. Ty er velin is in a tranquil area, near woods and water, but is an easy drive to La Trinité-sur-Mer's excellent harbourside restaurants and shops.
