We stayed for one week at Des Menhirs in August
Check in friendly and prompt and easy to find our accommodation.
The lodges are close together and do face each other. Noise was not a problem
The lodge was not the cleanest so spent a bit of time giving it a once over, We found 3 bulbs not working in the lodge and did let them know but not replaced,
the decking area is a good size but could do with some TLC as brambles etc growing on to it.
The pool and slides area is good but being height of summer with some lovely sunny days finding a sunbed could be tricky,
The onsite shop is good with bread and pastries on sale every morning the bar and snack area are good and decent prices.
The entertainment team work really hard with games going on around the pool in the afternoon. We didn’t go to the evening entertainment but some of it sounded good.
The beautiful Sandy beach is a 5 minute walk away athe town about 10 minutes ideal for a lovely stroll in the evening browsing in the shops. Watching street entertainers and there are lots of places selling crepes, ice cream and sweet treats with plenty of restaurants to choose from to have dinner and bars for a drink.
Choice supermarkets a 5-10 minute drive away including Super U. Lidl and there are some excellent bakeries around to.
We had a lovely relaxing holiday here and plenty for you to do in the area including the Petit train. La Trinite sur mer and the Carnac stones.
Holiday is what you make it and we would return again to Des Menhirs if we wanted to return to Carnac.

10min to Carnac fantastic for location, Site itself has good facilities indoor pool, outdoor pool, small water slide, Staff were very good at the bar, kids club Entertainers very good,
The Arcade needs security cameras as older children were tipping the machines to get free stuff my children are young so didn't want to go there they didn't feel safe also the Arcade was very dark, I noticed that this is over looked and no staff checked the area, so many times my kids didn't want to go in there, the kids park is basic and good for certain age but nothing for children 2-4 age range just one bouncing lady bird they should install a park for small children,
The bar price quite high but cheaper than Carnac it's self,
I found the evening bar staff better than the day staff I asked for a cappuccino and the lady didn't even know how to make it no froth at all just a milky coffee that was cold she wouldn't give a refund I didn't want to make a negative compliant so left it she was very rude also didn't make my cocktail well, the other bar staff were better in the evening.
The food prices better than Carnac itself and kids portion price realistic as Carnac is to expensive to eat as a family.
Staff spoke French and English I found it was a great camping site for Irish and British as I have visit many camping sites in France and not all spoke English.
My children enjoyed there stay and kids club
I do recommend for families of children of certain age group 6+

We have been to this site booking through eurocamp on several occasions. The park is in a great location short walk to the beach, supermarket and the bars and restaurants in carnac plage. We hired electric bikes which were very reasonably priced from la bicylette and didn't use our car at all. The pitches are very small and whilst we were here in low season it's clear there isn't much room on your pitch and manoeuvring vehicles can be tricky would be terrible in high season. As with many campsites there are some nice pitches and frankly some that are grotty on the main road, overlooked and very cramped. It's good to see since our last visit that the site is in the process of putting covered decking on all its mobile homes. Whilst were a couple so not really looking for family entertainment the pool area indoor and outdoor was nice as well as the bar and games area. There is a basketball court but apart from that there is little space for kids to kick a ball about. Staff were friendly and welcoming. we booked a premium 2 bedroom with lounge decking to be told 4 weeks before our holiday this was no longer available. It was disappointing to see when we got here that there were these available on site. Being forced to change our caravan we hired an Azure which I was told was in the premium range. We have had various caravans with eurocamp over the years, and for the money, this is the worst we have stayed in. Caravan was cramped, the queensize bed in the main bedroom was too big for the room it was difficult to move around it, no bedside table only a tacky metal shelf
No proper wardrobe too. In fact the caravan lacked storage space in general and there was only a very small area to be do food prep. We were only 2 really a family would struggle with lack of space and storage. Very disappointing accommodation. We were blessed with the weather but would not recommend the site in peak season.

Dear custumer , Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the great location of our park, the convenience of nearby amenities, and the friendliness of our staff. It's also wonderful that you found the electric bikes from La Bicyclette to be a practical and enjoyable way to explore the area. However, we are truly sorry to learn that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the change in your accommodation and the dissatisfaction with the Azure Caravan. Your feedback regarding the size and layout of the caravan, as well as the limited storage and preparation space, is valuable to us and will be reviewed to improve our offerings. We understand your concerns about the small and cramped pitches, especially during high season, and we appreciate your honest observations. We are continuously working to enhance our facilities and services, and your comments will help us in this process. It's good to know that you noticed the improvements we are making, such as adding covered decking to our mobile homes. We are also glad you enjoyed the pool area and other amenities, even though some aspects of the accommodation and space for activities were not as expected. We regret that your experience with the accommodation was disappointing and that it affected the overall value of your stay. We will take your feedback seriously to ensure we provide better options and a more comfortable experience for our guests in the future. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope you might consider giving us another chance to provide you with a more satisfactory holiday experience. Kind regards, Cyril, site manager

Terrible experience on arrival. Outside our Cabin as we parked our car was a very drunk French man dressed as a full size male genitalia (not joking). We had driven from Bordeaux with two young children and we were very tired. We then realized that the two cabins right beside us were occupied by a French Stag party and Hen party. So, no sleep that night at all for us, just screaming and shouting all night long. The next morning we complained to reception and they said the Stag party was leaving the next day but the hen party was staying so no need for us to move. We insisted on a new cabin far from these very drunk people and got moved to a much smaller cabin. They wouldn't give us a refund on the difference in price of cabins as our new cabin was much smaller, so next day I spent a day of my holidays cleaning our first cabin and moving all our stuff to the new cabin. I have no problem if couples want to celebrate their upcoming marriage but a family campsite is not the place for it.
I felt that the reception staff we were dealing with didn't really care and couldn't see how we might be upset. I have stayed in many campsites in France over the years (all good) but this is the worst experience I have ever had. This is not a campsite for families.

Dear Paul, Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to read that the behaviour of some guests has affected the quality of your stay. We deeply regret that it may have left you with bitter memories of your holiday. This situation remains exceptional and our campsite welcomes mostly families. The team on the spot did not fail to call the people concerned to order. But unfortunately, warnings are not always heeded. We are sometimes confronted with the incivility of certain guests and deplore this lack of good manners. Another accommodation further afield has been proposed. Our Customer Service sent you a letter and a commercial discount to compensate this change. Kind regards, The Team Les Menhirs

One week before we arrived June 2024, got an email from homair to say our package in carnac les menhirs was changed and we had a smaller mobile, options accept or cancel. Booking done in January so I was not happy. Had no option to accept as we were leaving next day to stay in benodet (with sandaya, who are brilliant). I went back and forth with Email and tried to figure out how this happened, all I got was computer glitch? Anyway was dreading arrival as I was going to fight my corner, however the people on site were wonderful and said this is happening to everyone as homair are now doing bookings for euro camp too and over booking on their system. My mobile wasn't too much smaller and I negotiated all the items be returned to me in my package ie WiFi, cleaning sheets and towels, no TV though. But I had to really fight for it over email and threaten all sorts of repercussions if my holiday was ruined due to their mess up. Got tiny refund but with the stress and hassle and very late notification will avoid in future. I have been travelling to France to campsites for 15 years and this is first time accommodation was changed so do not believe the nonsense that from time to time this happens. Not good enough sort your booking system out and prioritise early bookings.
I have to say the campsite facilities and staff were very accommodating but the stress leading up to coming due to change in booking by homair wasn't worth it. Our cabin was definitely smaller and we were 5 adults, you would think booking so early in advance makes you safe, it doesn't.

Dear Custumer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We deeply regret the inconvenience you faced due to the last-minute changes to your booking. We understand how frustrating it must have been to receive such news just before your arrival, especially after having booked so far in advance. We sincerely apologize for the stress and inconvenience caused by the change in your accommodation. We understand that a smaller mobile home was not what you had planned for, and we regret that this impacted your holiday experience. The overbooking issue and the explanation of a computer glitch were indeed unfortunate, and we are currently working diligently to improve our booking system to prevent such occurrences in the future. We are pleased to hear that our on-site staff were able to assist you and that you found the campsite facilities accommodating. We strive to provide excellent customer service, and it’s reassuring to know that our team was able to address some of your concerns upon your arrival. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the compensation. It’s important for us to ensure that our guests feel valued and heard, and we will take your comments into consideration as we review our policies and procedures. Thank you for your understanding and for bringing these issues to our attention. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our services. We hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future to provide you with the seamless and enjoyable holiday experience that you deserve. Kind regards, Cyril, Site manager

Our first time in Brittany and a really enjoyable stay at camping des menhirs. We booked through eurocamp (a twice rearranged COVID visit) and decided to come during May half term due to the crazy summer prices post COVID. We were really pleased with the quality of the resort and all facilities. The pool and slides were excellent and the water was a pleasant temperature. The accommodation itself is basic but had everything we needed and was in reasonable condition. A few bulbs missing here and there but nothing to write home about. The kids entertainment is excellent and the staff are brilliant in engaging people of all ages. There was always a lot going on. Its proximity to the beautiful beach (5 mins walk) made it ideal and we enjoyed a few relaxing beach BBQs as a result of having such easy access. It was a long way to come for a week but I would do it again for the quality and value of the stay we had. Well done camping des menhirs, thank you for making us feel so welcome.

For a euro camp I would say pretty good. The caravan we stayed in was very clean. Despite bit of mould in the shower. The beds were very comfy along with a good size room. The bathroom didn’t have a sink and you had to go to the kitchen or the shower room. There kitchen is a good size and it had cutlery, glasses and plates. There was no oven and if we wanted to get a bbq we had to rent it. There was a mini shop on the site and it had a bakery in it. The pool was good but it was a rough floor at the bottom of the pool and I watch a few people cut there feet when jumping in. The inside pool is smaller but doesn’t have that issue. The lifeguards need to get there act together. There was nobody watching most the time and when they were there was not point as they didn’t do anything they just sat there looking into space. The slides where good although do not lay on your back as it has a rough surface and makes it unpleasant. There was a park which for little kids is grate. There was entertainment every night and if it says concert on the entertainment list I would give it a miss. It’s in a extremely good location and had lots to see and do. Good food places, beautiful beach and a lot more. Overall i recommend coming but I would say go off peek as it is a small area.

Huge disappointment on our arrival when we discovered the mobile home which was a low-end mobile home even though we had reserved and paid a sum for an exclusive premium which normally is superior to all (deception in the photos of the site, be careful!).
It's a shame ! The managers told us that it was a premium but that is not true. In addition, the cleaning was sloppy (dirty microwave, trash bin lid not cleaned, dirty fridge, dirt in the shower corners, yellow marks on the shower side wall, shower support does not hold, dirty curtains). Everything is shaky inside, poorly assembled, the doors...No bathroom trash can: it's supposed to be a premium!!!! no space in the kitchen and bedroom cupboards, no storage! We speak with knowledge since we have been customers of another top camping chain for years and are therefore used to premium cottages! We wanted to test Homair and it was a disaster for this campsite. We have made a complaint, but we believe that everything must be clean when customers arrive and it is absolutely inconceivable to have to call in a cleaning lady when we are in the mobile home! Lack of professionalism on the part of the managers, the housekeeping manager as well as the cleaning ladies... The housekeeping manager told us she checked the mobile home!!!! But when she came to see it she actually recognized that it was not clean!!!! The managers complain about not finding competent staff but that's their problem!!!!! Customers do not have to suffer the inconvenience. An espresso coffee machine was missing. An employee brought it back to us later, but it would have been wise to clean it first!!!! So we didn't even use it! The exterior of the mobile home is neglected, hedge not maintained with brambles growing..., The terrace was not swept, barely room to park the vehicle! The mobile homes are on top of each other, no personal space. The outdoor aquatic area is OK but the swimming pool is far too small for the number present. The ordinary indoor swimming pool. Lack of cleanliness downstairs where the ping-pong tables are. The bar is modern because it has been redone! Fortunately ! Few activities, for the evenings always the same thing... The entertainers do their dance show but if they weren't there, nothing else. The only positive point is the proximity of Carnac Plage a few meters away, everything on foot: beach, restaurants, shops, excellent bakeries, ice cream parlors, day and night markets. Advice to customers to avoid experiencing the same thing as us: the 299 is not an exclusive premium! It was our first stay at Homair and we affirm that it is the last!!!!! Some pictures !

Just back from an 11 night stay with Eurocamp at Les Menhirs having not stayed at a Eurocamp in over a decade. The site itself was clean and tidy and the pool and pool area was great albeit the pool a little small at peak times. Slides were fab and my 2 kids enjoyed those. My disappointment was with the accommodation and entertainment/activities which I felt were lacking. Our accommodation the deluxe 3 bed was far from what I expected. It was very tired, loo roll holder hanging off, shower leaking through to bedroom and the boiler struggling to ignite to keep shower hot! The maintenance guy did attend and put some mastic in the shower but did not stop the leak entirely so needed mopping after everyone had showered each day. The master bedroom was so small you couldn’t walk around the bed let alone get dressed! We made the most of it but I would not say it was worth the money and I won’t be returning to a Eurocamp again as I feel the standard has dropped significantly, and you are just paying for the name.
Location was great and staff friendly on a positive.

Booked stay via Eurocamp website. Pretty easy to do. Chose this site due to location/distance from port, the fact they had a kids club from early in the season and had good looking (heated) swimming pools.
From Caen it took about 4 hours to drive to the site. Very good roads without tolls. Plenty of places to stop for a rest enroute.
Bit of a queue at checkin but very quick, friendly and efficient once it was out turn. Staff generally were great. In the shop, bar, reception and snack bar all were friendly and helpful.
Kids club was very good. Good choice of activities and enthusiastic staff.
The facilities were excellent. Both pools and watersides were clean and well maintained. Kids playground looked new and was good for our 4 and 6 year old to play in safely.
Our accommodation was very clean and well equipped. No oven but Eurocamp website made it clear there wasn't likely to be one. We were missing a couple of items from the inventory but reception sorted out replacements very quickly.
If I had to fault the place then parking spaces were quite tight on some plots, plots felt quite close together due to low or no hedges between and there was quite a lot of work going on, renovating some accommodation plots etc. But none of these really affected/bothered us that much.
Decent supermarket only 3 minutes drive away. Local beach was excellent. Clean and sandy, only 10 minute walk with small children or 2 mins in the car with lots of free parking on the front.
Good selection of restaurants very walkable from the site.
Would be very happy to visit again.

Don't know about the inflatables ask the site. They are pretty strict on the swimming gear, we had to buy lycra swim shorts. There wasn't specifically anyone checking but every man was wearing them.
Yes - although they are on a road. Lots of bikes and scooters around. Hope this helps
They are a bit old and worn out, our double bed was really low and you don’t have much room either side of it to get out, we did have to get them back to clean again in some places as was still dirty.
Of you don't book with eurocamp you'll have to rent your BBQ
It costs 24€ a week
"Quite petty really - if choosing beds by pool, try furthest away from gate entrance as it ‘bangs’ noisily on closing & gets a bit annoying!"Read full review
"When coming back to the pool in the afternoon, it will be very hard to get a sun bed. We found that by 5pm people did start to leave."Read full review
"Opt for day before arrival to avoid late check-in. If you are planning to bring food with you, we bought an airfryer with us - game changer!"Read full review
