With free parking on site, a clean, comfortable room and plain but satisfying meal this was a good place to reach at the end of a 500 mile drive. Like many UK and European hotels in all price ranges, Chris'tel seems to have pared back staff levels to a minimum but those who are left are friendly and hard-working.

We spent one night here before starting on the chemin de St. Jacques. The hotel is quite well located in tow and we were pleased to have parking provided. The service was poor however except for the very kind and helpful concierge. OK for a stopover.

OK, so you're not in the very city center, but really not too far! You can also park your car for free which is great in a city like Le Puy en Velay! The hotel itself is a bit old fashioned, but then again nice and clean. Only thing we did not really like is there is no air conditioning!...

This hotel is situated within easy walking distance of of the town centre but on a fairly busy road, which our room and balcony overlooked. This might bother some people. There was triple glazing that cut out the noise, but unfortunately no air-conditioning, so in hot weather, you have a choice.... Bed not the most comfortable; the mattress is probably...

Really liked this place. Excellent, helpful staff - a very welcome change from the corporate image a lot of hotel staff present. Central location, very good breakfast and our own balcony. Free parking much appreciated. Excellent value.

The good: large room, minibar, balcony (albeit to a busy main road), double patio doors to keep the noise out. Breakfast was good. Free parking. Free wifi - we had no problems with this, though previous reviewers reported issues. Room clean. Staff were polite and very helpful. Not so good: rooms were dated, carpets in rooms somewhat worn. We were...

This is a pleasant hotel in a quiet street a walk away from the old town center. It is advisable not to arrive too late as the Parking facilities can be full. The Hotel is reasonably modern and their is also a Restaurant. The staff is very friendly.

The second time we've stayed here and it's always good, the rooms are smart and clean, on site parking appreciated, breakfast lovely and location is great for exploring the town... We wouldn't stay anywhere else in this area, especially as the beds are so comfy, rooms warm and quiet and the staff so happy and welcoming. Oh and the tariff...

The room and hotel is basic as a place. Nothing much to call out as special here. The hotel location is great and only a short, flat walk into the centre of the nice town. This and price where the reasons why we picked this hotel, so we where quite happy.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. We stayed 2 nights. The rooms are big enough and clean. Good Internet connection. Nice buffet breakfast. On the whole, it is good value for money. We recommend Christel.
