This is a very convenient hotel and small. The decoration is outdated but the staff was great. For limited budgets, it is perfect. When I was staying there, I had a good night after a day of shopping, running...I would not spend a long stay nor a romantic week end there but with the money I saved in accommodation I... More

I booked into this hotel because the web site made it look entirely presentable. That'll teach me not to trust hotels' own web sites. Oh god, this place was disgusting. ...filthy, stained walls and carpets, and moldy smelling. The bathroom was tiny, parts were rusty and the shower was broken. I was so grossed out by the place I couldn't... More

The previous post suggests that the hotel is being refurbished - I was obviously in a room that hasn't been touched - for a 100 years!! The room was dark and dingy and smelt of grease - a downfall of being next to a restaurant, I guess. There was very little hot water and the shower was a dribble. The... More

This hotel was booked on the review of other people, location, and the recommendations of two travel books. The internet rated it in the top 12 out of 140 hotels in Bordeaux. The location was fantastic. The exterior of the building was fabulous. It was graded a 2 ( I would hate to see Grade1). The initial room I was... More

Just spent another 4 nights in the Hotel Bristol and were not disappointed! Particularly friendly and helpful staff with a great welcome. The good news is that the hotel is gradually being refurbished and upgraded - although the dingy lighting and long delays for hot water appear to remain! However, the bad news is that the rates have been increased.... More

We stayed three nights in this hotel and found it to be perfectly adequte for those on a budget. It's very conveniently placed on Place Gambetta, handy to the pedestrianised zone, walking distance from all the sights, and is clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit rustic but served its purpose well. The reception staff are tops...friendly and helpful... More
