The hostess is very helpfull and advised us to a great restaurant in the surroundings, "Le bistrot des anges" (see my review). The ecolodge itself is the bundling of two smaller typical Bordeaux houses linked by a glassv ceiling courtyard where one can get his breakfast. the living rooms are quite nicely decorated a was our room "Ardoise". Good bed,...

We had only one night at this place but enjoyed it thoroughly. The room was very spacious and comfortable and breakfast in the atrium was delicious. The building is centuries old but has been set up well with modern comforts while maintaining the charm of the original building. We had a room looking out onto Rue Raze and had no...

In most respects Ecolodge de Chartons is fine, as reflected in the many effusive reviews. In addition I am not sure anyone mentioned that there is secure car parking at ground floor level. For us there were two problems. The first is that the only windows in our room were directly above and looked out on the covered atrium, where...

This lodge in an exquisitely converted building in old Chartrons, within walking distance of central Bordeaux, offers a charming, comfortable experience and nice breakfast. The owner is delightful, speaks excellent English and is full of practical advice, especially about restaurants and wine bars surrounding this charming area close to the river. Could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

Everything about this B&B was just perfect. First location: It is steps away from the riverfront, few minutes walk from tram stops, and there are plenty of places to grab a drink or food all around. While still being close to all this, it is on a very quiet side street so there is little to no noise outside. Interior:...

Of the dozens of B&Bs I have stayed in over the years this is in the top five. Veronique, the landlady, welcomes you into her old home in Chartrons. Off a narrow street just a few hundred yards from the waterfront quay along the Garonne River, you enter this beautiful old building through a narrow corridor to a stone staircase...

We stayed for two nights in Toscane, a spacious room for three. The house is beautifully furnished & has a lovely, calm feel. Veronique is a gracious & kind hostess, always keen to ensure that we were comfortable - even giving my son an extra brioche from the delicious breakfast for our onward journey on our last morning! The Ecolodge...

I can't speak highly enough of Veronique and her beautiful home. Veronique is all class and professionalism - I have never met a better hostess - and her home is exquisite with an environmentally friendly restoration. We stayed here twice - before and after our Camino Frances. Veronique stored our luggage in between. Nothing was a problem and we had...

The traveller photos of this hotel are more true to how great the rooms are, than the management photos (that aren't great). It is a very very beautiful old building that has been done up, lots of light and really very spectacular. The rooms are large, with a beautiful style, with modern bathrooms, and a great shower. The owner is...

Our hostess was so friendly, the breakfast was exceptional, the house is lovely with a nice large common sitting space, and the hotel is well located near tram stops and a nice square with many great restaurants to choose from!
