We are a family visiting Manchester with two Man Utd fanatical kids. We Stayed at the kimpton Oxford street (beautiful), then moved to hotel football (very cool place) due to stadium tour then booked Hilton deansgate as a treat for kids due to indoor pool and high story bar. What a mistake!!!! We arrived at 4pm to check in and were informed there was no running water to the entire hotel. Then we were told the pool was shut, and the restaurant on floor 23 was also closed. The only place to relax was a stale restaurant lobby bar with zero character. Once we got to our room, the aircon was broken, room was boiling hot and had no drinking water which wasn’t good when there was no water in the taps either with two thirsty kids. Tried ringing reception over and over without success, so had to take Elevator down to ask for water and ask for them to fix the aircon. Went outside for dinner and returned 2 hours later to our room with no change to room temperature. The rooms are sooo tired, and out dated, such a shock after staying at the Kimpton. My wife and I are regular business travellers and both commented that this is worst hotel experience in memory. What a huge disappointment to the end of holiday and what’s more a massive waste of £192. My youngest lad summed it up perfectly ‘dad please don’t book another Hilton hotel again’ Anyway we are hoping for an early night in our sauna and leaving this place ASAP in the morning. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!! Ok the kimpton or alternative REAL 4* hotel which this isnt.…
We stayed here for 5 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary after our trip to Turkey was cancelled. We arrived early in the afternoon, check in was efficient and our room was ready. We had a nice room on a high floor, lots of space. Covid measures were well signed and clearly explained by staff at each point of contact. As Diamond members we had access to the executive lounge on the 23rd floor, seating was well spaced out, canapes and drinks were served at your table. It looked like they had underestimated occupancy levels as it was quite busy and staff around the hotel were in constant demmand. We had dinner in the ground floor Podium restaurant, the food and service was really good. The hotel is in a great location, close to the Science and Industry museum and many other attractions. The staff were all very pleasant, helpful and efficient. In the exec lounge, Ariel and Lorenzo were rushed off their feet, especially Lorenzo who ran the room on his own for two nights, but maintained a friendly disposition despite being under constant pressure. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. …
The hotel positioning is great with nice views. It was very clean and the staff was helpful. However, for the price of the stay I was very surprised that breakfast was not included and when we enquired about it, we were told that breakfast was full anyway. Also, the provided shower amenities were of poor standard. Overall, a nice stay but it fell slightly short of the premium price expectations.
Visited here for a romantic couple of days during our staycation. Booked the king deluxe plus room with access to the exclusive lounge. As the lounge is not fully open due to cov19, we were offered breakfast in the podium restaurant which was very good. The room was decent size and had an amazing view being on the 16th floor. The exclusive lounge was a really nice treat serving canopies and a very nice selection of drinks (no cocktails) although the lounge is open 5pm till 8pm, they only serve alcohol 6-8pm.
Second stay here and we love the high rooms (we had a king size exec room on floor 22) with the views. Conveniently located. Executive Club bar on floor 23 is great with lovely staff. Special mention for Ariel who chased after us right down the street when we left our car keys in the exec club bar when going out for dinner. She could easily have popped them behind the bar for us to collect so we were hugely appreciative of her finding us.
