The hotel doesn't look much from the outside but when you get inside you'll be pleasantly surprised. The rooms are a good size. Bathroom could do with an update but nothing wrong with it! Shower was really powerful. Breakfasts were all you can eat full English. Gluten free bread available and selection of fruits and cereals. 15 mins uber to Manchester center (£7-10)
Stayed here to see cycling at the velodrome was going to be a 2 night stay but they cancelled the cycling so we stayed the one night and they reimburse us the Saturday night stay ,breakfast is one of the nicest we have had lot of choice ,rooms really comfortable plus they let us use the room from 11.30 on the Friday as we got there early
This hotel looked ok when booking, but we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. In a very good location, not far from many good attractions. There is an Aldi and Tesco walking distance from the hotel.Staff were very friendly, had a nice atmosphere. The rooms were laid out well and spotless. Bathroom good, but no walk in shower. A big TV, coffee, tea and biscuits at hand. Breakfast was excellent, the selection was really impressive and the dining area and decor were really nice. Definitely recommend this place would come back again.
Free Parking, not too far from city, clean, very friendly staff- Breakfast Buffet was Basic- but for me was just right. Not much choice of cakes and croissant- but I dont normally eat them. Did miss the cheese though, not cheese- bread were sliced- no fresh bread- but not a big deal
On Saturday 6th July my mother and I stayed in room 204 of your hotel. Upon arrival to the room it was nice and pleasant and had everything we needed for our stay. We had an appointment in Manchester City Centre at 3.30pm and arrived back at the hotel at around 8.30pm. Following our return, we had some time to enjoy the room and watch TV and then attempted to get some sleep. Unfortunately this is where the problem began. At around 12am we heard the guests above enter their room and the floor they were walking on was creaking so bad. We could hear their TV and also every movement they made on foot. At one point they dropped something heavy and it made me jump. We were ready to sleep at around 11.30pm but this kept us awake until around 3am as they were up and down all night. At this time decided that the only way I would actually get any sleep would be to put headphones in and listen to something on my phone. When checking out, the female receptionist asked if everything was OK with our stay and told her about the poor nights sleep I had due to this. All she could do was look on the system and tell me that a couple were in the room above and that room would be 304. (Not entirely sure why I needed that information) She hummed and said “that’s not good is it. Sorry about that” and that was that Due to it being so late at night/early in the morning. I didn't feel it was an appropriate time to being asking for a change in room.I did take a moment read their terms and conditions which stated “Any complaint regarding the hotel must be brought to the attention of the hotel team as early as possible during your stay and, if not resolved to your satisfaction, should be notified to the Manager at Diamond Lodge in writing If the hotel is not informed about an issue during your stay no reimbursement can be offered at a later date.” So, we reported at during breakfast. It was hard to make out if the night staff were actually staff as they were sat in the bar area most of the night. I had to write a complaint to the hotel in the end. Within the complaint I asked for a full refund especially as I wasn't able to sleep so the booking wasn't fit for purpose and the terms and conditions suggest a reimbursement was an option. It certainly was not a “quality premier lodge type hotel accommodation” Not only did I have to chase my complaint but it was not even acknowledged on receipt. In the end, we received a poor excuse of an apology by way of letter and what felt like a "it's your fault" tone because we should have apparantly gone down to reception at the time to change rooms. By way of apology we got vouchers for 10% off our next stay! Talk about twisting the night in more! I'd never stay there again........…
