Their was a crooked man who lived in a crooked house. The Mitre hotel is one of the oldest central hotels in Manchester. The crooked floors the obscure stairs all add to character of the building. Ive paid £35 for one night to be pleasantly greeted, promptly handed my room key, and overtly satisfied with the room. Staying also with...

Stayed here Friday 3rd Feb because I was going to a concert. I booked through late rooms and the hotel look absolutely nothing like the pictures on there site. Old carpets, stained bedding, dirty mirrors, mouldy bathrooms, peeling wallpaper, big gaps in the doors, only lock in the door a Yale lock. It's just vile and the worst part is...

Room wasn't clean, stains on chair, cobwebs on ceiling, headboard grimy, damp walls with wallpaper falling off. Didn't end up staying, got a refund and went elsewhere. Reception gave immediate refund.

I bought a groupon voucher for a sirloin steak meal for 4 with wine. Arrived on a Friday evening and the restaurant part was closed. In Fact should have been warned as there was nobody else eating. The wine was the cheapest red plonk I think you can find. The steak was ot sirloin but over seasoned overcooked very thin...

My boyfriend bought us the wowcher for a little meal for Christmas, which we went for at the start of January, after the meal did not go to well I emailed in complaining and was ignored. Explaining in short how the waiter who took the order did not write down what we wanted so brought the wrong starter, after a...

The Mitre has a great location for Central Manchester shops/restaurants/Arena/Theatres all on the doorstep! Staff friendly and helpful. The bar area is well maintained. The Hotel area needs a good bit of TLC as it feels dated and left to drift on. Room 9 was OK, on the quiet side of the hotel, bed was OK pillows a little solid....

Me & my fiance stayed here last week, via a 1/2 price offer. Id looked at the management pictures before arriving, and I was surprised to find the hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures portray it. However, we were greeted by a lovely receptionist, who told us the relevant information we needed to know. Getting to our room, after climbing...

We stayed there for one night - it all looked quite good on the web but it was not worth the money we paid for the room! The room was quite small (not like what it shows on the picture) and dark; the view from the room was poor (faces backsides of the old building (poor); not the Cathedral!). Bathroom...

Was really looking forward to staying here as tbh the pics on Booking.com and the hotel website made the rooms and hotel look far superior than they actually were. The bars and public areas and reception look very tired and dated as was our room and the stairways etc. The best thing about the room was the view from our...

Fantastic location, adjacent to the Cathedral and within ten minutes walk of Manchester City football stadium which is also Manchester Arena. The Corn Exchange, with numerous individual eateries and Print Works, which has various chain eateries are within 4 minutes walk. Manchester's Arndale Centre is 5 minutes walk. The hotel interior requires redecorating but it was clean, staff were helpful...
