Very nice lobby, easy check in, nice beds, bathroom a bit cramped. Has charging ports on walls next to beds (even on top bunks) which is handy and also USB ports. Comfortable enough bed. Great value for money and will definitely be back.

Hostel is a cheap and cheerful place. The self catering kitchen is adequate. The laundry facilities are coin operated which I wasn't aware of. £3 for a wash and £2 for a dry. Staying in a 4 bed room means dealing with all sorts so I recommend eye masks and ear plugs. Particularly if you are a sensitive sleeper as...

Good value for money in this classic YHA hostel, recommended for solo travellers, comfortable mattress, helpful staff, nice bar/coffee area and kitchen, all clean, lovely building and surrounding in the Potato Wharf area. Nice walk towards town, bars and restaurants area quite close.

So incredibly disappointed of this Hostel. The first thing we had to do was to change our sheets because they were covers in hair. The toilet was dirty and the room smelled apple to cover the smoke. The breakfast and dinner did not live up to the standards, the employers were rude and not service minded at all. I would...

Was only fleeting as we'd played a show at Club Rebellion & didn't get to check in till 2am (thank the maker for 24 hour check in). Had to leave to get back on the road at 6am so didn't get my full quota of sleep (through no fault of the establishment of course, purely our own doing). Really good...

A lot of noise in this hostel. I was there for a couple nights, Each night, between 3 am and 5 am, people are sreaming in the room and in the hall. One night, the fire alarm as started for no reason during 30 minutes. The solution of the staff for all this problem is: you can by our plug.....

I chose this hostel for it's proximity to several attractions I was visiting while in Manchester. It's walking distance from the Deansgate train station, the Museum of Science and Industry, the old Corrie filming set, the art museum and even Roman era ruins. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. Mine had a private bathroom with good water pressure in...

Nice staff. Generally good bedrooms. Kitchen could do with a makeover- cookers tried and worn, general lack of pots etc. Despite this summer's wi-fi upgrade of YHA properties to "the cloud", still couldn't get decent wi-fi in my room (108). Bedrooms overheated - in January! Friday and Saturday nights tend to be very noisy with thoughtless loud guests - nothing...

I enjoyed my stay in Manchester. It is the first time that stayed at the YHA. I was stranded in Manchest er due to some unforeseen circumstance. i could not find a hotel to stay in everything was book and anyway the prices for December were sky high. This is one of the most comfortable cheap hostels I have been to in England. However they charge you for some offers that in others hostels are included, such as breakfast and cloakroom. The place was very clean and well design as well.
