This is a very comfortable nice hotel in a useful area - because it feels quite off the beaten track, alongside a river and yet is just a stones throw from Spinning Fields and central Manchester. It has a bit of character with exposed brick and wood including in some of the rooms, but still feels like a chain and...

Nice place, decent meeting room, good food. Bit of a hike from Piccadilly though. I was disappointed that there was no gym; pretty standard for hotels like this I would have thought? I couldn't be bothered wandering off in the rain to find Bannatynes so went to the bar instead which was really nice. No breakfast order card in the...

Stopped here with friends, on arrival looked good car parked, with rooms fine although if you get a room on the 3rd floor and you are over 5ft 10 you will struggle to get into the shower as ceilings are low. Problems started at breakfast when we arrived at 930 and were told it was busy and it could take...

Dear Andrew P, Thank you for sharing your recent experience here with us. Where do I start!! We are regular visitors to the Victoria and Albert hotel in Manchester and have always had a wonderful time.. So we decided to go there for the weekend to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. On arrival we were allocated our room which was very substandard to what we are used to in this hotel. The room...

Dear Tjs31m, Thank you for sharing your recent experience here with us. As mentioned in our correspondence, unfortunately we are not able to always foreseen our guests behavior and it was certainly disappointing to see that a special occasion turned out to be such a negative experience. I would stay here again but specifically ask for a room that was not connected. Apart from that everything was perfect, staff were lovely &...

We stop in Manchester quiet often & if you'd asked me where the Marriott was I wouldn't have had a clue. We stopped here on a Friday night, upgrading to the superior room, with free breakfast & car parking (for £40). The hotel was a great surprise, the staff great, the room good, within walking distance of Spinningfields & the...

Great hotel, with a lot of Victorian charm! Stayed here for a conference at the nearby conference centre. It is quite centrally located and most places including the shopping arcade is within walking distance if it is a nice sunny day. There is no onsite parking as such, but the concierge arranges for your car to be securely parked nearby....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set in the vibrant Manchester city centre on the banks of the River Irwell, the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel in England exudes a historical charm. Our cozy 4-star Manchester hotel's location across from Granada Television Studios is ideal, as guests enjoy a short and pleasant stroll to the Opera House, Spinningfields area, and Palace Theatre. Since our Manchester city center hotel's origin was a warehouse built in 1844, you will find many authentic details in our guest rooms including exposed brick and oak beams. Our £3 million renovation in 2014 highlights the old architecture and new contemporary flair, along with modern comforts and services. ... more   less
