Our first stay at The Midland and we will definitely go back again. The staff are some of the friendliest hotel staff we have ever come across. Our room (King size) was great and a special cake and free drinks voucher for our anniversary from the hotel was a lovely surprise.

Stayed at the Midland hotel on 10th July and loved it the staff were GREAT and the hotel is impressive. The TV programme did not do it justice in fact the show was misleading. There were 20 of us staying that night and we all agreed. Also you couldn't wish to be more central everything is on the doorstep but...

I was staying at The Midland to run a conference the next day. My second floor room looked great initially, with a lounge and a huge bedroom. At 930pm I called down to find out when they might be stopping the major roadworks right outside the room - huge stone cutters digging up the road. Reception didn't seem to know...

Dear Lizzie72, I am glad you had an overall excellent stay and please accept our apologies for the road works happening around the hotel. We do try to move guest away from the road works as far as possible and are in contact with the contractors but sometimes it is out of our control. I am glad all the other...

Stayed for one night to visit Simon Rogan's restaurant The French. It's a beautiful hotel, lovely decor and nicely furnished. The rooms are very nice, the bathroom is clean and a good shower. Fine usual tea and coffee tray and plenty of sockets for phone chargers etc. The mattress however is probably one of the original ones from when the...

Lovely hotel in great location. Just like the TV program lol. Staff all very friendly. Lacks a decent bar, with atmosphere, but plenty near by. No chance of a Sunday lie in as they started digging the road up outside at 7.45.......surly there's a law against that!!!!

Dear Esther T, Thank you for your review of your recent experience at the hotel. I’m sorry to read that the roadworks near to the hotel disturbed your sleep and we’ll certainly take your points up with the relevant parties. Hotel was immaculate, room (with king size bed) was superb, staff were warm, friendly and efficient. In short, everything about my stay (including a superb meal in the restaurant - Mr Cooper's) was top notch. Fully recommended.

Totally charming experience.. Central location.. Excellent and attentive staff..service with a smile.. Didn't use the spa.. But looked amazing... The character and the history the hotel has was a deciding factor in our choice. Will definitely be returning..
