The hotel in itself is very good. Very central, very clean, very good breakfast and overall, a very good stay. However, the free car park is a scam. When we arrived, we followed to the letter the instructions to register our "free" car park stay. After our stay, we found ourselves lumped with a parking charge of over a 100 pounds. When we appealed to POPLA, in spite of our giving all our evidence, we lost the appeal since "we did not provide enough evidence". Another scam. In a few words, stay in this hotel by all means, but do not use the car park. We did, we followed the instructions to the letter and we found ourselves having to pay for more than one night's worth at the hotel!

Stayed here just for somewhere to touch base as my daughter is at Uni there but found it fantastic . Will definitely book again . We are on the evening and food was reasonable plus a generous breakfast.

I stayed in this hotel for about three weeks as it was booked by my company so can share a lot. 1. I can say this is a budget hotel because the rates are cheaper than hotels at City centre 2. The rooms have very less lights and becomes an issue for working long hours.they definitely need couple of more lights so that it is not depressing. 3. There are no cupboards in the room and for long stay you have to keep clothes hanging in the open 4. Coming to the good part - it is the staff that makes this hotel worth staying because they help you all the way. They help you with cutlery for meals in room and also usage of microwave in common room. They would also give best advice for manchester with patience. 5. Location is ok and you have to take bus 201 and 203 opposite McDonald's for going to city centre. Tesco is at 10 min walk along with sub way 6. There is debdale park adjacent to hotel to spend peaceful time 7.breakfast is good but doesn't change and I suggest they should have more options like omelette on few days and more fruits The hotel definitely needs a make over for the name holiday inn. A big thumbs up for staff which makes the rating to 3.5 instead of 3. So score is 3.5/5. Drop a message for any details if required.

I stayed here recently taking children with special educational needs on a school trip to Manchester. We arrived to the hotel about 11.15pm after a long day travelling and a football match so we had a lot of tired children checking in. But the staff were so accommodating and understanding to our requests and also provided some food to our group at such a late hour. The hotel itself is clean and modern and provides an excellent breakfast in the morning. I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling as part of a tour group.
