Another great stay at one of our favourite hotels in Manchester, we have just come back from a 4 night stay for the bank holiday weekend, 28th May I had already requested a room with view, which they honured, we had a view of the royal exchange, rooms still very cosy clean and best thing is the location ..bang in the centre to all the best restaurants around the town hall, peter st and spinningfields about a 10min walk. We didnt have breakfast when theres a greggs, pret and wetherspoons a stones throw away, there is an absolutely beautiful pretty cafe in the entrance of royal exhange across the road from the hotel try and visit its gorgeous. Most of all it felt very safe and super clean, if i was to be picky, i would say they need windows that open as the aircon is either too hot or too cold and we are having a mini heatwave in Manchester. The staff are faultless and super friendly, we got an amazing deal for the 4 night stay. Book ..you wont be disappointed..…
The receptionists were friendly, my bedroom has no view but it was very quiet and I was happy with that. ,The bedroom is simple but cozy. Localization perfect, close to the train station, mall, shopping area, opera, supermarket...
In these very strange times we are living in the staff in this hotel went above and beyond what I have come to expect from a City centre hotel. A special mention to Gregory and Sofie who promptly dealt with an error I made on checkout..... they were wonderful and it was so nice to deal with personable employees throughout. We will be back... if Boris allows it!!!
The hotel is a short distance from the Royal Exchange Theatre and close to all the central shops and restaurants. The rooms are not huge but have everything required for a short stay in Manchester and the king sized bed was very comfortable. MotelOne take the Covid-19 precautions seriously. There is plenty of hand sanitiser and clear instructions on where in the hotel guests must wear their masks. The staff all wore masks and gloves. What really made the stay was the staff. They were all very friendly and provided excellent service at breakfast and at the bar in the evening when we had pre and post dinner drinks.
We stayed here at the start of March while in Manchester for a cycling and theatre event. First impressions left a little to be desired. We walked into reception, three staff members stood chatting and made us feel like we were interrupting. We eventually got served and were given our room key, with no other information apart from it was on the first floor. We had paid the extra money for the upgraded king size room. Upon getting out of the lift, we walked along the corridor to the very end, not seeing our room. A tiny sign pointed that it was around the corner, through some fire doors. As soon as we turned the corner, the temperature dropped, this side of the building was freezing cold. We got in the room, and it was freezing cold also. We turned the heating on full blast, however nothing much was coming out of it, even after an hour of running. We left to go get lunch and asked at the front desk for someone to look at our heating as it's very cold. We came back later that day, only one member of staff was behind the bar serving, so we went straight to the room, again it was freezing cold, no notes in the room to say they had looked at it. The only way of staying warm was lying under the duvet with our clothes on! The room itself was ok, a standard size and small bathroom. The view was of the staff smoking area and car park. We slept, however picked up a sniffle from the cold night, it didn't get "warm" in the room ever. The next day I scoped out the area to see why our room was so cold. It was first floor but had a car park under it, so there was no heat from beneath, also the fire escape next to our room was left open at the bottom of the stairs (staff using it to smoke) that's why the entire area was freezing. We stayed three days in total, and felt it wasn't worth the money, especially the extra we paid for the upgraded room. When checking out we weren't asked how are stay was or anything about the issue we had reported. Wouldn't recommend motel one again. …
